Kaden slammed the door behind him as he stormed into Lucien's suite. For a patience celestial he sure didn't look it in that moment. His virtue didn't negate all the aggravations and annoyances and stress that built up over time. Lucien's general nonsense and threats to his family or Merek; Dempsey complaining about how his circumstances are everyone's fault but his own; Ransom continuing to pressure him into his stupid plan getting rid of their connected problems. Most importantly, this goddamn castle in general.
Even the thousand year old kresnik couldn't keep it together all the time.
Fortunately, his master wasn't around but his roommate was. Normally, Kaden would go to Finn for these moments when his anger outweighed his patience where he fed the familiar all that wrath bubbling over. It worked out because Finn would get a meal that restored his vice's strength and Kaden's patience would be recharged. Win-win.
However, the familiar had his powers negated for the last few months, which meant he couldn't feed off angry energy. Kaden had gotten lucky with the one-off during Spring Mischief. He trusted Finn with this matter given how long they knew each other. Much as he liked Vitaly's presence in the suite he wasn't sure how well he could trust him. Better than nothing since Kaden didn't know if kresniks could fall like celestials and, no, he had no intention of finding out. He sure as hell wasn't going to Ransom with this request.
"Alehkin," the older slave barked at the hellhound in his gruff tone. "Need a favor. You hungry?"
