It's Log Horizon! I like how it does fantasy isekai without absurd shonen anime powers, and I love analytical tactician protagonists, and I love the worldspace and the mechanics of the "game." And then the mangaka got arrested for tax fraud, which I think we should have seen coming from "Unrestrained Capitalism Saves the Day: The Anime."

I remember watching the first ep (or maybe first couple of eps? i don’t remember) with you!i’ve kind of got a hatred for the isekai genre b/c it’s so overdone (worse yet, overdone BADLY), but....Log Horizon was def at the forefront of that trend before it started getting really bad, and it seems more about “okay, this is a problem how are we dealing with our new situation” and way less about “hey my nerd skills are useful now! i’m gonna get all the girls!” so it’s inherently better than 99% of isekai lmao.also rip mangaka...if only art paid better
