Ember was used to her own place by now, used to waking up in a bed, in her own bed, in Redwood. This was all new again, though - a bed but now hers, and she needed a few moments to get herself together, for her brain to catch up why she wasn't in hers, why there was a warm body lying next to her, and then Ember looked over and saw Val and it all clicked. The unexpected reunion, the entire previous night, the way they fell back into each other's arms pretty quickly.
She just watched the other woman for a few moments until her eyes fluttered open and Ember smiled, her fingers lightly caressing Val's arm up and down. "You know, if anyone told me I'd be in your bed again like, ever, I would have told them they lost their minds and that it was impossible. Can't believe you're actually here, in Redwood, still."
