I’ll Meet You in Paradise
Summer 2015 [Philippines]
It’s been awhile since I updated my tumblr. Truth is, I wrote something a few days back and for some reason I can’t find the post anymore (not in my drafts.. ahhhh), so I basically have to start over.
Anyways, where to begin...
Yaay, I am currently in Hong Kong! Isn’t that exciting? Being here still feels so surreal. I’ve actually been living in Hong Kong for basically 2.5 weeks now so I’ve been able to familiarize myself with the city (though it’s not my first time here so adjusting to the lifestyle here was quite easy). Before coming to Hong Kong, I went to the Philippines for around 2.5 weeks, and it was honestly one of my favourite visits thus far! One of my cousins was able to take time off work during my entire stay there, so she was able to accompany me to many places (and not to mention all those food adventures :P). The nice thing is, my relatives have always been so caring so I felt quite at home being back in the ‘homeland’. The only part that I didn’t like was the heat, but all the places we went to had aircon, so I didn’t have to be outside much. Aside from all the touristy things/food adventures in the Philippines, I also learned a lot about myself. I realized that I’m more Canadian than I thought, that my chinese (hokkien) wasn’t thaaaaat bad, and that I can pass as a “Balikbayan”! I’ve learned so much but the rest will have to be written in another post.
PS. I’m actually in class right now so I should probably write again later. I’ll blog about my experience in Hong Kong next time, and hopefully be able to post some photos!
Love,
Mika :)
