But Portable 3rd is regarded as the best monster hunter game…. I don’t really know why, thats what I read about anyway. Most likely with how Japanese gamers like their games//

Interesting no? And heres why. Japan’s gaming market is dominated by portable systems? Why? Think about it. Japanese homes are small = aka no room for a TV = the PS Vita sold better there than in the US. I repeat, the VITA sold better than the 3DS. (look at how many Vita games they get vs us!) They also love presentation = nice graphics (look at Frontier vs the other games...) 

You made an interesting point before about them not being portable... but remember this is before the Switch came out. Before it came out everyone, even Nintendo, thought it was going to flop. It came out at a weird time (not typical for consoles) and had unprecedented success. And it RIVALS the Vita = aka the popular system in Japan.... If Capcom is not making a Monster Hunter for Switch I have no idea what they are doing... (unless they decided the Western market is where they need to be?)

Edit. Forgot to add that the Switch did exceedingly well in all regions because they have a system that appeals to Japan (portable) and the West (home console)

Reginald flashed him a smile before sitting down next to him. While normally he would tackled hunts like these alone, he had a feeling that this one would be more troublesome than usual. He had decided that it would be better to be safe than sorry, and had set out to find the other man and ask him to join him. 

After all, they had never hunted together before. 

It was about 4 weeks after Gate woke of from recovering from the hunt that went wrong. In that time he and Daichi had began to date. Not just Daichi sitting by Gate checking on him while his wounds healed. Actual relationship where Gate complimented Daichi telling him how much he loved him from time to time and Daichi taking it.

“Daichi! You’re back from your hunt! How did it go?” Gate said with a large amount of energy greeting his boyfriend. Gate was as cheery as always trying to actually keep the promise he made to keep his optimism on the winning side, so far so good. “I was actually wondering if you wanted to do like a sleep over tonight? Since you’ve been so busy with your hunts for the past two weeks and I’ve been on investigations trying to help meowscular chef with ingredients. We can cuddle and just hamg out together if that was okay with you?” He says quietly to the other hunter. “I actually just got back a few more ago as well from an expedition turned hunt. Did you want to go and take a bath as well?” His face had a scarlet hue from the suggestion he made but still said it.

It’s been a few days that he had descended from the skies and landed in this strange primal world. On his journey, he came across a lot of wildlife as well as creatures he never thought existed. So far, he survived just fine by avoiding the larger predators and hunting his food. In all honesty, he kind of enjoyed hunting and killing like this- there was something about it that calmed his demon side.

Black wings unfurled as he sunk his teeth in a freshly killed Aptonoth. So far, it was his favorite kind of meat as it was very delicious and seemingly nutritive. 

“...?!”

However, the sound of a branch cracking under someone’s weight suddenly took his attention. Alerted, Akira jerked and suddenly lifted his bloodied face from his meal in order to gaze in the darkness. “Rrrr....” He squinted at the stranger.

“I’ve had you under my hands before, even if you did not know. You will be back.” A soft sigh. Quinn hadn’t meant their warning to be so ominous, just a reminder to be more careful in the field. They feared for when the hunters became the hunted. Or, more truly, when they fell climbing, or got into fights with the paths through the woods, or scraped themselves up on the rocks ... 

“I do quite like that girl, Daichi. Keep her around.”
