whY cant i switch which blog is my mAIN
alright, hi. itâs been a bit and i kinda have more character idea to toss up - should i make a new blog? abandon this one to the wolves and archive it? iâm not exactly sure how to move on here and am open to suggestions
please donât be hard on yourself if your muse isnât loud lately. or that you didnât do any / as many drafts like you wanted to today. or that you are slow with responses. or you only have muse for 1 or 2 particular things. or if you arenât feeling a certain thread/ship today. donât be so hard on yourself for being human â an artistâs passion can spark and shift. inspiration comes and goes. even when chasing it, you still got to let it flow naturally or this hobby becomes âa choreâ to you. itâs okay if you havenât written anything today. a week. a few weeks. even months. that doesnât make you less of a writer - that doesnât make you invalid. you are doing amazing, and i am proud of you for just being such a caring, creative person. for getting up and existing. you donât need to apologize, or feel like you have to make excuses, or shamelessly say why ⌠we understand. we get it. youâre doing just fine<3
minor roleplay psa from an old who has been around too long in the rpc.
help people push their promos. please. i know that the icon promo trend made it easier to just like to show interest, but liking on tunglr does literally nothing from an algorithm stand point. liking does not promote their blog, liking does not show it to more people, liking fundamentally is just a little heart that shoves that liked post into your likes to be forgotten about. liking something on this site is pretty useless.
it is unhelpful when an rper is trying to open up to new interactions & followers when their promo is never reblogged. please consider reblogging more & liking less, it helps a ton & makes the effort someone puts into promoting their blog worth it.

maybe sometimes things fall apart like autumn leaves. they canât stay there forever. thatâs not how trees workÂ

ââŚyou can call me Quinn,â they speak slowly, thoughtfully. This name is safe enough, and this man ⌠doesnât appear to be fully fae, but one can never be too sure. Curious, though. Maybe he is something of a dream, some inkling of foretelling amidst the usual omens and worries brought to them. The idea of familiarity soothed them somewhat, here. âMay I call you by anything?â
âI am not in need of any food here.â They must refuse, as politely as possible. They know the rules. They know what manners they must maintain. Despite being lost and terrified and unsure of what even to do next. âI - I cannot ask you of anything.â
Quinn. Just hearing their name made Rileyâs heart flutter. His smile softened while he listened to them speak these carefully-crafted sentences. At the last polite refusal, he hummed, eyes squinting in another pleasant smile.
â Suit yourself. â Ah â what name should he give them? For a moment he considered a plethora of other aliases. Heâd actually confused himself with these in a past form, never remembering which name he introduced himself with to people outside of the Feywilds. No, simplicity was key here.
Besides, Quinn deserved all the honesty Riley could give them.
â You may call me Riley, â he finally said, after a few more moments of thought.  â Well, Quinn, if you are not lost and do not need my help, do you mind a little bit of company? I must admit, this walk Iâve had on my own is getting quite dull. Thereâs only so much â self-reflection one can do before they start to lose their sanity. â
âRiley.â Repeated, softly, running the name over in their head. It sounded familiar, in a strange way that they couldnât quite place. Maybe an old classmate or childhood friendâs name?Â
âUh ... I suppose that would be alright.â They didnât see much harm in just a walk, beyond the low thrum of anxiety over minding their tongue in the presence of fae. Being so careful was so tiring, sometimes, but they would be terrified either way, alone and afraid and uncertain in the Feywilds alone, or, afraid of the company of another but at least in that company to not be so fearful alone.Â
âDo you, uh, do you know quite where we are? I donât thinking getting lost would do much good ...âÂ

It wasnât the first prison heâd been to. Wasnât the first time heâd gotten arrested for something trivial either. He had been arrested for way worse offenses, such as existing, but a man could only do so much before he decided it was time to skip town.Â
This time he hadnât even been the cause of the disturbance that caused him to end up in a cell. An argument had broken out between a merchant and a customer when he had been passing by, and he and a couple of others had gone to try to prevent it turning into a fistfight.Â
It had turned into a minor street brawl.Â
The problem with having bright red hair such as he in a desert country was that he made a very memorable target. And thus, his luck had led him being pointed out and dragged into custody. His bag had been snatched away, his cloak too, and he just hoped that no one paid too close attention to those.Â
A Witch had to keep his secrets, after all.Â
He hummed as he leaned back against the cool stone, legs splayed out before him on the floor as he watched the shadows move beyond the barred door, listening to the sounds of other prisoners and guards down the hall. Idly he wondered when they were going to question him, or at the very least let him out. He hadnât done anything wrong, after all, and he still had a smarting bruise on his face that proved he had been punished enough for just trying to be a good person.Â
He didnât want to play his hand too soon and show them that these cells couldnât contain him, after all. Heâd like to stay in this country for more than a single afternoon before he was chased to the border with torches and pitchforks.Â
Miriam was alerted to a strange traveler of a man in her dungeons just before afternoon tea. She still sat for tea, of course, with this disruption, holding her son down from going off to make a fool of himself investigating on his own, sipping at warm mint while considering what to do with the situation at hand. It didnât seem like there was much evidence against him in the present, aside from what had been taken from him when he was taken into the custody of the guards.Â
Curious assortment. Certainly a man of some magic, and likely a more dangerous sort but it was hard to tell - sheâd asked the guards to hold off on searching his things once sheâd realized. No need for them to get tangled up in something they may not understand fully.
That left her with half a cup of tea still, gingerly sorting through items and feeling the magic of them, while Ezen slithered off to go investigate the man in question. They werenât exactly a kind questioner, all sharp scales sliding up his ankles from the floor.Â
âWho are you?â A hissing tongue, black eyes staring him down.Â
toameliiorateâ:
âNo, no - itâs not your fault I just -âÂ
And he kissed them. They didnât expect that. Quinn didnât really know what to expect at all, hardly thinking, just clinging to the existence of the present moment and working their way through that. But he kissed them and all their worries shifted, some melted away and some new, but a brighter shade, no longer worried for his attachment to them but the shape of relationship between them. And that - wasnât so awful, knowing in that gentle touch they werenât going to lose him over this.
Carefully, slowly, even after he had pulled away their hand came up to brush his hair back behind his ear and cup his cheek, not wanting to move any further apart. â⌠can I?âÂ
They were softer than Riley had imagined them to be. He enjoyed the gentle fingers on his face, brushing his hair away as he watched them. What was he doing? It was only a fleeting thought, drowned out by the warm feeling growing in his chest.
â If you want, â he said, watching them with kind eyes. Chase, you fool, of course they wanted to, why would they ask if they didnât? He smiled a little bigger, eyes closing as he gave them another kiss.
â I feel like we both deserve something as gentle as a kiss like that, â he added with a gentle chuckle.  â You especially. I â I think youâre really great, Quinn. â
âI - yea.â They couldnât speak much on the concept of deserving, but it was nice, in a way they hadnât felt before. Some tenderness against their skin, for once, and something finally direct and certain between the two of them, the tension of pining and wanting and never fully letting themself dare to consider him dissolved into something much sweeter and easier to hold. âI, uh ... you should rest. Youâve been through a lot.â But Quinn didnât move their hand, still gently carding through his curls even as they settled back against the pillows.Â
MMMM ok so posts saying âfemale muses deserve respect too!â feel kind of bland when they dont talk about the fact that white women get more attention than women of color, when they dont mention the fact that cis women get more attention than trans women, when they dont mention the fact that cishet white women will always get favored over trans women of color who are gay.Â
i really think its very easy to say âfemale muses are underappreciated!â when its so much more complicated than that. that doesnât mean im ignoring the fact that a white man will, most likely, get more attention than characters who are women. and yes, youâre allowed to whine if your character whos a white femme fatale doesnt get as much appreciation. but, at the very least, for the love of god, think about how your character has their own privileges BECAUSE theyre STILL white. The same goes for other privileges they might have.
also, food for thought: do men get more attention in the RPC? when you think about it, in a way. but does a character whos a trans brown man get more attention than a cishet white woman? does a character whos a gay black man get more attention than a white woman? if they do, they probably had to work a lot harder for it than you give them credit for, and they deserve every ounce of recognition and appreciation they get.Â
tl;dr just think critically. dont just make posts saying âfemale muses deserve more recognitionâ without mentioning the fact that a lot of them already DO get a lot of attention and respect, especially in comparison to the way women of color, especially brown and black women, are treated. it just ignores the complexity of the issue by stripping away the experiences of marginalized groups that dont have the âbenefitâ of being a âcishet white womanâ in the rpc.

some of yall need to go lie down on the forest floor and grow moss
listen... i know this might be a hard concept to grasp but... maybe YOU are the racist these posts are talking about...
like... read the posts. are all your ships white gay dudes? are the people in your art all white? have you written fanfiction about a person of color? do you draw dark skinned people? have you ever drawn someone south asian? do you use aave to show youâre angry? is your black OC a sassy stereotype? do you post about wanting to live in a castle with your (white) vampire husband and his servants and not see a problem with it? or do you support cottegecore? do you only listen to white artists? are all your favorite actors white? can you even name a single middle eastern celebrity? do you refer to all modesty coverings as âhijabs?â do you pour hours of research into your favorite media and characters and yet donât do the same for real life people and cultures, and instead inaccurately represent them? do you write about poc hoping you can get by on what knowledge youâve managed to pick up here and there? do you read the links in the posts you reblog? do you use ambiguous race people for your poc edits instead of finding someone of that ethnicity? do you whitewash? does your favorite media contain racist caricatures? are you even critical of your favorite media? have you donated or do you just reblog for appearance? have you donated more to fanfiction sites than to gofundmeâs? do you still support companies and brands after theyâre outed as racist? is your activism performative? these are all questions you should ask yourself and iâm just reiterating points made in countless posts.
