Then Oakhurst happens, what should’ve been a fairly routine job turns into a freaking nightmare, and at some point Abolish just breaks from the stress and ends up regressing around Legs. It’s probably the most pleasant regression experience Abolish has ever had, but that doesn’t help much when he wakes up later and realizes he regressed in front of somebody on the job. Legs wasn’t really prepared for Abolish to wake up big, embarrassed and desperate to pretend that never happened, but he’s perfectly willing to keep Abolish’s regression a secret.

(I think eventually Abolish comes around to letting Legs babysit him while he’s little. Legs also definitely gets him a plushie and something to chew on. Also, additional headcanon I couldn’t find a more natural place to fit in: Abolish is mostly nonverbal when regressed.)

- when I said Legs is town dad I really meant Legs is Everyone's dad. like even the castle vampires will go to him when small.

- the only person he wouldnt watch ever is Scott.

- he keeps blood in stock for the vampires, and has specific cups/bottles for them to use because the metallic taste would linger in the other cups

- where does the blood come from? shrugs. does he bottle animal blood himself, ignoring how canonically only vamps can do that? does one of the vamps keep him stocked? I have this idea in my head of Owen restocking the blood secretly, because if he did it and people knew about it that would mean Acknowledging The Regression and he's got some Feelings about that.

- Owen found the lab on accident while wandering once. he zoned out/dissociated and just ended up there. it smells like the doc bc he's spent so much time in there. this becomes a regular hiding space for him and then one day he's Caught. cue Legs learning that Owen regresses. eventually there ends up being a hidden side room specifically for Owen bc Owen does not trust the castle or oakhurst, and honestly, the doc doesn't trust oakhurst with owen's safety either

- Legs uses his old knife to carve wooden toys. a new positive connotation for what was just an uneasy comfort before

- once Owen starts regressing with a cg, they Have to be in view/in contact with him or else he will start Sobbing. that poor boy instantly thinks he has been/he's going to be left alone

- Owen definitely latches on to people. and with his vampire strength he Cannot Be Removed. he nearly strangles Legs once because he was holding onto him so hard.

- Legs and Owen play doctor! whether it's on toys or with Legs being the patient. this is how the doc can teach him about more modern medicine, because Owen only has experience with 200 year old medicine, and it might help Owen deal with some of the medical trauma he most definitely has

- Legs ends up with a bat on his head/in his pocket quite often. they take naps there.

totally! adding on to that, i like cc!owen’s idea that v!owen is quite susceptible to the vampires counting lore, so maybe while he’s chewing through a bone he’ll count how many bites it takes before it’s brittle enough to break :>

to begin:

legs is absolutely town dad. anyone small? he'll watch 'em. boo-boos? he has bandaids and Soup. he's also an authority figure in general so more rowdy kids are more likely to listen to him

oh he definitely is! he’s very patient and really tries to understand a little’s emotions if they’re having a not good time, he takes extra caution with a more rowdy or cranky little to avoid any outbursts. (cough with owen mostly)

OK MORE LEGS HEADCANONS TIME

- Legs always knows when people are pretending to be hurt just for soup. he doesn't care, he's happy to help, even if its just making them happy :)

- strong. he can pick up everyone. he never really stopped exercising after the military. what if he needed to carry a patient to a better place for treatment?

- he has a flashback while taking care of a little and then convinces himself he isn't fit to watch over anyone for like a week. this is solved by a little (possibly the same one?) getting injured and immediately going to him for help and comfort, even ignoring the person who was actually watching them (the little and cg could be literally anyone, fill in the blanks!)

- he's a big fan of nap time because he sleeps better with someone else there, but he doesn't want to admit it

- when everything isnt Stressful and Terrifying and Depressing he's very silly! I think a favourite gag of his would be the tickle monster. and he does all sorts of voices during story time

- he gets people to do checkups while they're small. not exactly ethical, but it gets results, because these people are stubborn *cough*Avid*cough*

- resident stuffie doctor! and perhaps blankies too. if he can fix a person, he can surely fix a little's best friend, right? there could very well be people better at sewing than him, but it just kind of ends up that way

- he gets really good at making stories up on the fly because he only brought medical textbooks with him. as a result, he is quite good at playing pretend

- I think both legs and owen should get to be small. as a treat. they're both so incredibly sad and need hugs and gentleness

- louis absolutely dotes on the littles. he appreciates the fact that regression is one of the few ways they let themselves be vulnerable, and how much trust in him it takes to accept his help and affection

- owen and legs. will start hitting eachother if left unsupervised. it is inevitable.

- legs does not sleep nearly as often as he should. one of the easier ways to get him to do so is to coax him down to regression through soft words and gentle cuddles (eepy regressor just like me fr)

- owen does not know how to handle a small legs, he often leaves it to louis to take care of legs entirely. legs does not like this, and wants to be with owen too >:(

- personally I am ignoring the fact that vampires canonically cant sleep. they do. and cuddles are a necessity.

- nightmares and night terrors, however, are pretty frequent. they have a nightlight of some kind for legs because he's 1: human and cant see in the dark, and 2: literally half-blind. also owen would never admit it but the pure darkness without it reminds him of being buried

- louis does Not remember how to make human food, it's been hundreds of years since he was human, and he hasn't reslly had a need to cook for people. any snacks or meals have to be pre-made or something that doesn't need much preparation. thankfully its only legs who needs it, so a stockpile can last quite a while.

yk vLegs is a bit of a "prude" I imagine he wouldn't take the chance of sleeping with anyone and all that because he wants to focus in his work, so vSaus takes advantage of his alcoholism by sometimes, late at night, offering vLegs a drink or two in the tavern because he knows it'll escalate

vSaus takes advantage of a drunk vLegs to sleep with him, so vLegs will often be fully indulged in work, get dragged to the tavern by like vCleo (who is just making sure he doesn't completely drown himself in the work) and then wake up naked in vSaus's bed with either little to no memory of what happened, or full memory and a lot of shame

they end up doing this in front of others (read: vRen and vSaus) and it makes vLegs feel so embarrassed but so turned on, he wants to bury his face against vMartyn but that doesn't work considering he's behind vLegs most of the time
