     " you know... I was really hopin' I'd never see your face, again. like ever. "

       there’s a roll of her eyes whenever the other spoke, her head falling back        wards to watch as he rounded the couch,    eggnog in hand.  “yeah, and        yet you continue to wear a mistletoe headband in the hopes of me doing        the one thing you want so badly.”   she’d flick the toy for a moment until        going to stare at the other,      golden hues narrowing brightly.  “i am not        convinced.  you like them, you’re just not going to say it.”

       “it is entirely okay to enjoy the things involved with the holidays but not like to         participate in 'em.” he'd started, blind to the eyeroll which the woman had         perfected. “hey, what can i say, worth a try, isn't it ?” a snort follows his words,         accompanied by a sip of the spiked eggnog. “sorry you're not that good at         readin' books, just focusin' on the very, very dull covers. though i can't say 'm         exactly surprised.” he'd assumed, wrongfully, for her to be below average.         yet, this was a habit of his he'd never break. not even for the smartest of         minds.

        "You know, dogs are a lot better than humans. Look a lot better, too."
