She hadn't heard the the guttural cry that ripped through her chest. Or felt the way her magic propelled her to his side. He had found Delilah first and while Gael was not one to worry over on the battle field before he could deal what would have been the killing blow to the blonde. . .he hesitated.

Over the cacophonous roar of battle Kat couldnt hear what the woman had said to him. Whatever words Delilah had uttered in that moment were enough to make him hesitate just long enough to allow her to blast him with the same blinding green light that had nearly struck Kat dead in their last skirmish. Kathrine used every ounce of energy she had to slam a wall of void around the two to encase them in a shield as she scooped him into her arms. "Gael? Oh gods, Love. Please look at me." She pleaded , one arm cradling him to her as her free hand held his face. The blood and dirt that caked his jaw and forehead were long dried but the gash that marred his chest and stomach tore a knurled bleeding gash across him. "Gods Gael please just hold on. Viv will be here any moment." The focus of his pale blue eyes began to drift and her heart sank. Tears began to run, streaming down her face, her please now breaking between sobs. "Please Gael. . .You cant leave me. I cant be whole without you. If you leave me -- Gael you are going to take my future and I just. . .Please don't let me bare a second of this world without you in it." Kat bent to press her forehead to his, her sobbing now shaking her entire body as she brushed her nose gently to his. "I love you, Gael--If they take you from me. . .If you die . . .I will burn the world for daring to go on without you." 

"Pride. Honestly, Piter - what does pride have to do with this? Do you think I'm not taking it seriously?" He waved a hand over the map, with its tiny and colorful markings contrasting the gravity of their situation. The Baron's death had been months in coming, yet Feyd hadn't expected everything to immediately fall apart upon his passing.
