The tension is unbearable. It crackles in the air like an approaching storm, thick and heavy, felt in every glance, every unspoken word.

The first time Madara noticed it, he ignored it. He had better things to focus on than trivial distractions. But then he saw her again, that same day, standing in the center of the Senju compound, discussing battle strategies with Hashirama and Tobirama as if she had been born to wield authority. She wasn’t just confident, no.

She was untouchable.

And worst of all, she did not flinch before them.

(Y/N) met the eyes of the Uchiha without hesitation, even when intimidation dripped from their words like poison. Her presence commanded respect without demanding it, and before he knew it, Madara was drawn to her like a moth to flame.

Izuna, of course, wasn’t any better.

If anything, he fell harder.

-You're spending too much time with that Senju.

Madara's voice was sharp as he spoke, his arms crossed over his chest, the embers of his Sharingan barely restrained. He wasn’t one for dramatics; his anger was a slow, simmering thing, controlled, measured.

But today? Today, it burned.

(Y/N) lifted an eyebrow, unimpressed.

–I was handling diplomatic affairs. Or do you prefer we go back to bloodshed?

Beside her, Tobirama continued reviewing scrolls, unbothered. The audacity of that man. The Second Senju son barely acknowledged Madara’s presence, and that made it so much worse.

Izuna, standing beside his brother, exhaled sharply.

–Handling diplomatic affairs?- he repeated, tone edged with mockery. -Funny. Last I checked, diplomacy didn’t require training together or laughing over documents.-

Tobirama’s red eyes flicked toward them, cool and detached. Bored. That was how he looked. As if two of the most dangerous men in the Fire Country weren’t moments away from unsheathing their blades.

(Y/N) turned fully toward the Uchiha brothers, crossing her arms.

–If you have something to say, say it.

Oh, Madara would. The words were already on the tip of his tongue, a sharp accusation, a demand to know why she was wasting her time with a Senju when the Uchiha were the ones who—

But then Tobirama—that bastard—tilted his head and smirked, just slightly.

–Jealousy does not suit you, Uchiha.

Madara saw red.

Izuna had to physically step forward before his brother actually started a war.

–You— Madara hissed, stepping closer, —have no place speaking as if—"

(Y/N) cut him off.

–Enough.

The authority in her voice struck harder than any blade. Even Izuna, who had been seconds from backing his brother up in whatever violent response he had in mind, hesitated.

She exhaled, her patience thinning.

–If I choose to spend my time with Tobirama, that is my choice. It is not a matter of Senju or Uchiha—it is a matter of who respects me.

Madara’s jaw locked.

Izuna’s eyes darkened.

Tobirama merely smirked.

–Well said,- he murmured, standing from his seat, rolling the scrolls neatly before handing them to her. -Our meeting is over. I will see you at tomorrow’s training.-

(Y/N) nodded, taking them without hesitation, but Madara and Izuna? They stood like statues, burning with unspoken fury, watching as she turned and left, without another glance in their direction.

The only sound that remained was Izuna’s exhale of frustration. -I swear to the gods, if that man smirks one more time—

- Fugaku is a wise man, he knows the clan's past, its enemies, all the history of its founder and the disputes against his younger brother. The Uchiha grew up ready to take charge of the family, and he has no doubts about the hatred towards the Senju. Today, with that clan all but extinct, there is almost nothing left to worry about, or so he thought.

- Itachi announcing his election out of the family, being next in line and soon to take leadership of the clan is a terrible disgrace. There is a monumental fight in the household when he makes his decision known, a huge argument that ends with him fleeing and disappearing for days.

- The leader believes his son was conquered by a red-haired demon, outrageous. After the whole fiasco of the 9-tailed attack, the hatred imparted on the Uchiha clan for their "supposed conspiracy against the village", and all the repercussions of Minato and Kushina's death, Fugaku materialized his anger against that cursed legacy by planning a coup d'état.

- His father demands he resign as leader if this outrageous behavior is what he intends to pursue, and appoints Sasuke as his heir.

- Mikoto is the only one who knows his whereabouts, and visits him frequently at Shisui's house. The two talk for long hours, where his mother pleads with him to forgive and understand his father, trying to mend the family rift.

- She is not interested in her son becoming a leader, but in him being happy and not holding grudges against Fugaku, being able to understand his point of view and not allowing conflict to separate them.

- On her visits she always asks Itachi about his girlfriend, looking for details of how he met her, what her name is, and what she does with her life. Mikoto doesn't have a single problem with his choice as long as he is happy, prioritizing only her son's well-being above all else.

- Sasuke, in fact, would care. The avenging Uchiha we see throughout Naruto is one built on the resentment he has because his brother destroyed his family, in this case, I suppose that wouldn't have happened, so he wouldn't have the same apathy for life with which I always write him.

- The younger Uchiha, manages a mixture of fascination and terror. It disgusts him how his older brother ruined his reputation in such a terrible way, shamelessly breaking the boundaries and rules of the clan, and he doesn't understand how he got to that point.

- Itachi was always his role model, his idol, and to see him walk such crooked paths, far from everything his father always tried to teach them both, is terrible.

- On the other hand, he's happy because all of Fugaku's attention rains down on him, without his older brother interrupting in the middle. Sasuke wouldn't be able to define a more important authority figure than his father, and to have all of his undivided focus because he plans to prepare him as the next leader is amazing.

I think Mikoto would convince Itachi to come back, after multiple and diverse visits to Shisui's house, and at the same time talk to Fugaku, softening him up little by little. She raises how beneficial it could be to include Uzumaki blood to the Uchiha legacy, and tries to buy him off from a strategic point of view.

Fugaku, ideally, would want his son to be with someone of high status, elegance, and pretensions befitting the Uchiha legend, and he begins to entertain the possibility of perhaps the girl being so. It convinces him.

Sasuke on the other hand does not stop bragging about how he will scold his older brother to make him understand the offense he committed against the clan, still too young to empathize with the reasons of love, of the heart, the passionate impulses.

Itachi takes his time evaluating what to do and what not to do but ultimately decides to introduce her so as to calm things down. If they don't accept her for who she is, then he will completely disassociate himself from his family.

Mikoto is the warmest of them all, and greets them both at the door when they show up for dinner. She can see how nervous her son is, but also the loving conviction he has for this girl in his eyes. (Y/N), on the other hand, strongly reminds her of Kushina, a pleasant memory.

Her fiery red hair stands out madly in contrast to all the black-haired people in the room, and as soon as they enter the dining area, Sasuke jumps on the attack with aggressive words towards his brother.

Fugaku basically tells him to shut up and sit down, reducing the threat in seconds with authority, cryptically analyzing the girl in question. He turns pale when she smiles at him without a care in the world, failing with his attempt of premature intimidation.

(Y/N) converses quite matter-of-factly during the beginning of the meeting, most of the questions asked by Mikoto in front of a distraught Itachi out of concern and a Fugaku unwilling to budge.

For dessert, the father finally agrees to ask some controversial questions, hoping to put her on the spot when answering, catch her without replies or even make her angry, give him a reason to hate her as the clan legacy demands.

Sasuke falls in love with her at every answer and realizes she's even smarter than his older brother. Who starts the evening as an enemy, quickly becomes an ally, and Fugaku is left alone on his disapproving side.

(Y/N) doesn't let herself be beaten and answers every question boldly, shutting him down on any front he intends to use as an attack. The Uchiha leader ends the meeting highly frustrated and does not partake of the after-dinner tea, but eventually and as time goes on, the more he interacts with her the more he realizes his son made the right choice.

The girl is unconventional, breaks the clan rules, is outrageous, but somehow makes a perfect match with his pragmatic boy, complementing each other in all the areas the other lacks.
