This is a sequel to my sigil crafting post. If you have not seen it, though, fear not, friend. We're just talking about what to do with the sigil we have created. Well, what do now? You have a sigil, great. Now what do we do with it? Well, friend, there are many things we can do with it. I will be discussing some. Jewelry/Clothing Have you made a sigil directly relating for you? Do you want to keep it with you for a period of undefined time? One of my favorite things to do is to draw or make the sigil on something I can wear. It can be as simple as drawing the sigil on a pendant and making it into a necklace. Do you want super awesome protective magic clothes? Me too. Draw or embroider the sigil onto an article of clothing. Body Drawing (I have yet to think up a better name) When I made my "heartmatch" sigil (not the birds), I wanted it to draw me closer to my ideal partner with each step. With this thought in mind, I drew the sigil onto my left foot. If you wanted to guard your heart, you could draw a protective sigil over your heart. If you wanted to create beautiful art or music, you could draw the sigil onto your hand(s). For athletes, draw a sigil on the part of your body that you primarily use for the sport. Personally, I just let the sigil fade on its own. This gives the notion that it is absorbed into you for long-lasting effects. I don't know about you, but I think that's kind of badass to absorb magic symbols into one's being. Burning/Destroying A practice I've commonly seen, burning/destroying the sigil is supposed to release the magic into the universe. I really don't use this since most of my sigils are made for long lasting effects. It's also a great idea for offering sigils/energy to deities/spirits. Baking Mhm, ever eaten a magic cookie that makes you feel balanced and relaxed? No? Well you should. Who doesn't love magic cookies??? This can be done in a variety of ways depending on what you're making. I'm going to use chocolate chip cookies as an example (definitely not because I'm addicted to them). 1. Infusing the batter: draw the sigil into the batter when you're mixing it. Pour ingredients into the batter in the shape of the sigil. Make a chocolate chip sigil (very metal, I know). The possibilities are endless. When I make cupcakes for friends, I drip the batter into the bowl in the shape of a "happy" sigil. This way no one will ever suspect there's something up with the food. Also an incognito way of cursing someone. After all, who's going to turn down free food? 2. On each cookie, draw the sigil before they go into the oven. You can also blow onto the sigil-cookie to activate it. I feel this would work well with sugar cookies and icing. 3. When the cookies are fresh out of the oven, draw one large sigil over all of them for maximum magical infusion. 4. Arrange the cookies in the shape of sigil. I'm not really sure how well this one will work, though .-. Arting Put the sigil in a work of art. When I make art, I feel as though a part of myself is put into the piece. The image came from my soul and my hands created something out of nothing. That's pretty darn magical by itself. Do you want protection? Art a protective figure and integrate the sigil into it (think doing my sigil crafting backwards). This can also be drawing the sigil on a rock or talisman and keep it with you (I have a protection sigil drawn on a rock for my car). Dancing/Movement I loved dancing when I could before my body got stupid, so I think that this one would be very fun to do. Make a dance movement in the shape of the sigil. Move in the shape of the sigil as you dance. You could even draw the sigil on your hands/feet and charge it by dancing. Divination For those making a sigil for help in divination, there are many ways to integrate it. While you could just draw it on you or wear it, why not make a spread in the shape of the sigil? This could work with tarot or runes. For those scrying in smoke, draw the sigil in the smoke and then watch for images. Planting Plant your herbs in the shape of the sigil. Water a potted plant in the shape of the sigil. Touch it in the shape of the sigil. The possibilities are endless! I'm sure there's so much more you can do to use sigils, but these are the ones I know of. Feel free to reblog and add your methods, we all can benefit from sharing information :D
