So as I'm sure like 3 of you know, the USF St. Petersburg campus had a building catch on fire.

I live on the Tampa campus. Right now, as of 4:05pm there is a fire alarm going off. It has been doing so for several minutes, since at least 4. I am currently sitting on my bed, writing this out on my phone.

"Why aren't you outside, dumbass?" You may ask. Its because when I got to the security doors before the building entrance, someone out in the lobby waved us back inside. I couldn't hear what he was saying, and my RA didn't answer me when I asked her what was going on. This is the third time the fire alarm has gone off this semester, not included the required drill. One of these times, it started at 6am and it took our RA 30 minutes to find out it was a test. The alarm was on and off for 4 hours. All 3 times, we were sent back inside almost immediately. I noticed that several people who were in my pod did not leave their rooms for this fire alarm.

It was on KUSF Radio and hosted the very talented Mecedes Lindsay, who I've already chatted with before for a project they're working on, for their show Embodied Conversations. We discussed the themes and motifs around my album and how it relates to me as a person as well as my relationship with my (currently microscopic) audience.

KUSF is, of course, the student radio station for San Francisco University in California, which has an eight hour time zone differnece to Britain where I'm based, so I woke myself up at midnight to attend our scheduled Google Teams meetup at 12:30, which is 16:30 for them, and finished at 2am. Certainly a disruption to my sleep schedule, but it was absolutely worth it, I was wired all night afterwards from the excitement of actually being on the radio, American radio at that.

Mecedes is an excellent host and created a very chill atmosphere for us to talk in. They told me how much my music meant to them and how they heard my songs at a pivotal time in their life and that is everything an artist wants to hear. I have made an impact on someone, as far as I'm concerned, that is mission accomplished. The album was worth releasing for that alone.
