Weird drawing request here but I was inspired by your latest post as it made me realise how many scottish witches we have with unsual hair but what if Juniper, Freyja and Indigo tell American travellers about the legend of the haggis! 😂😂😂
sit yourself down and let me tell you about Hamish, the Haggis of Hogwarts. It was the spring of 1987, Freyja, Tulip and Barnaby were mucking about by the Great Lake when they came across an odd looking hairy little creature stuck in the shallows of the water’s edge. They managed to free it thanks to a group effort, and took it to Prof Kettleburn when they realised it was injured.
Turns out it was actually a murtlap. One that had for some reason (probably a genetic mutation) grown hair all over its body. It had lost its tail to a predator, and the nature of its hair meant it couldn’t swim in deep water without getting waterlogged. Prof Kettleburn agreed to take it to the magical creatures reserve where it could live in safety. With frequent visits from Freyja and her friends, it slowly became used to being around people and became the unofficial school mascot. So of course they had to name it. Tulip noted aloud that if wild haggises were real, it would look like that. Barnaby then chose a name fitting for a haggis. Hamish. Thus Hamish the Haggis of Hogwarts was born.
Fast forward to spring 1989, Juniper and Indigo (@indigobackfire) want to mess with some visiting American wizards and tell them that wild haggises are actually a real thing. But to really sell it, they want someone to walk Hamish through the streets of Hogsmeade. They ask around for volunteers, and Freyja agrees to play along in return for a box of peppermint toads.
((forget the curse-breaking, Freyja’s legacy at Hogwarts was actually Hamish the Haggis))
