#LochteNation, Overnight Sensation or Overrated Egoist?
Deep down in the chlorinated waters of some pool in Rochester, New York, a trending Olympian and socialTV comment juggernaut was born – Ryan Locthe.
In the course of a 400m individual medley, 4 x 100m team freestyle, 200m freestyle, the USA converted into a #LochteNation. According to SocialGuide Intelligence, @ryanlocte generated 16,802 comments during @NBC’s primetime broadcast of the London Olympics. The hashtag #lochtenation generated 3,233 comments. Wow.
The world is obsessed. Ladies drool over his spray tanned washboard abs while men gawk at the ladies drooling and insecurely pump more iron at the gym. Lochte has already butterflied, freestyled, and backstroked his arch nemesis and fellow US swimming teammate, Michael Phelps, off his legendary marijuana scented Olympic throne. But, with last nights 4th place finish, is the new king of USA swimming just an overnight sensation?
Lochte confronted his fans about his 4th place finish in the 200 freestyle final, tweeping “Not so happy about that swim tonight… you live and learn. Tomorrow I will be better.”
The echo of an “Overrated” chant is is tickling this Sociallizard’s ears. BUT, it would be cool to see him win another medal so we could get a look at those awesome American flag grillz.
This is the SocialLizard, shakin them dredz at #LochteNation.
