Two Steps Back
So who are these female Republicans who not only
vote for misogynists but run for congress opposing
equal pay for women; opposing the family leave act
so that women would need to choose between starting
a family or keeping their job as if having a career and
kids are mutually exclusive; opposing the Affordable
Care Act which provides reproductive care for women
and allows families to not go bankrupt if someone has
a healthcare issue; agreeing with tearing children from
the arms of screaming mothers legally seeking asylum,
kidnapping them, and putting them in cages to never
see their families again. When they look back at history
at the women who fought for the vote, equality, and
the opportunity to become public officials, do they note
the irony of their position? When their husbands raise
their hands against them, do they wipe away the blood
thinking they deserved it? Who are these strange beings
who look like women on the outside, whom you would
assume value childrenβs safety, womenβs rights, and
family values but who have been obviously brainwashed
by the right wing echo chamber of ignorance and lies?
I suspect they are the same women who at
soccer matches root for their own kids
but scream bloody curses
at everyone elseβs.
