One thing that would have been cool, if AoR had a season two, would have been to flesh out the mystics more.
We had the Skeksis have some moments that fleshed them out from simple villians--like the sympathy we feel for SkekTek, despite him literally inventing draining--and I feel it would have been cool to give these peaceful monks some faults to make them feel more human.
Like, we all know they will never get involved until the movie because they think thats when the 'time is right'--so they hide in the safety of shadows as the gelfling are exterminated. I think it would be cool if like Rian or Deet somehow ended up with them and confronted them on this antipathic to the point of cruelty to interfer. Not to say the mystics are evil, but as we've seen with UrGoh, not everyone agrees this was the way to go.
Like, maybe we could dig into their soul-shattering guilt, as its their whole form the UrSkeks who cause all of this pain and suffering. Maybe even one of them could have a breakdown about this. These guys are the UrSkek halves who would feel remorse and guilt for their actions. Or, OR, what if we meet a mystic who does not want to reunite with their SkekSis half? So disgusted by their faults and inner demons, they would rather feel like one half the person, as long as they are the 'pure half' (I feel like this self-loathing mystic would be UrTih, SkekTek's counterpart, or UrSol, the Chamberlain's).
Maybe even talk about UrGoh's own banishment/isolation from the other mystics. Or start beuilding the foundation of how Jen would eventually end up with them.
