(...) Luan Starova (1941) dhe Kim Mehmeti (1955) janë dy shkrimtarë të shquar të Maqedonisë. I pari me “Kohën e dhive” dhe i dyti me “Vitet e urithit”, kanë krijuar dy vepra postmoderne për periudhën komuniste në Maqedoni, të fokusuar në një lagje periferike, apo në një katund të Shkupit. Këto dy vepra, përveç kohës dhe hapësirës së përbashkët (komunizmi, Shkupi), relacionet i ruajnë edhe në tituj: në të dyja shfaqen koha (vitet) dhe kafsha (dhia, urithi). Të dyja janë shkruar si metafiksione historiografike, duke pasur si qëllim argëtimin me të kaluarën.
Koha e dhive (1993) është roman i strukturuar sipas poetikës postmoderne. Loja me metarrëfimin komunist është kthyer në strategji narrative. Nëpërmjet artit të kombinimit janë bërë bashkë diskurset historike, politike, etike dhe letrare. Nëse e shohim tekstin nëpër shtresa retorike, atëherë mund të thuhet që ironia haset që në shkallën e parë (inventio: gjenocidi ndaj dhive) dhe shtrihet kudo nëpër strukturë dhe figurë (composition, elocutio: dhia – partia, bagëtia – ideologjia, barinjtë e bashkuar – komunistët e bashkuar, nevoja qumështore – fuqia punëtore etj.). Nëpërmjet intertekstit mitologjik, në një kohë të ateizmit ideologjik, dhia bëhet e dërguar e perëndisë. Ajo që ka ushqyer dikur Zeusin, tani ushqen familjet e varfëra të cilët jetojnë bashkë me dhitë në një shoqëri pa klasa. E thjeshtëzuar deri në fund, semantika e këtij romani sugjeron se njerëzit kanë nevojë për ushqim të vërtetë, jo për ideologji të kota. Prandaj, krejt natyrshëm, në roman faktorizohet qumështi i dhisë përballë programit të Partisë.
(...) Një metafiksion historiografik është, gjithashtu, romani Vitet e urithit (2007) i Kim Mehmetit. Ky është një rrëfim që nuk kufizohet me kohën socialiste, por që megjithatë fokusohet kryesisht në të. Si roman postmodernist, atë e bëjnë të dallueshëm: ironia ndaj metanarrativës ideologjike, interteksti që krijon sfondin historik e politik, përsëritja që rimerr të njëjtat ngjarje, të njëjtat personazhe për t’i trajtuar nga kohë dhe kënde të ndryshme. Romani është mbushur me tema dhe motive të ndryshme, si: dashuria, vdekja, izolimi, shpërngulja, mikpritja, tradhtia etj., ndërsa dy figurat udhëheqëse të katundit janë hoxha, si predikues kuranor dhe kryeplaku si lider kanunor. Por, as Kurani e as Kanuni nuk i shpëton ata nga tundimet e magjistares së bukur, e cila bëhet mollë sherri për ta. Duke ballafaquar magjistaren me kryeplakun dhe hoxhën, autori ka ballafaquar estetikën me etikën. (...)
