Clássica cerveja defumada alemã, nota máxima no RateBeer e referência mundial do estilo. Na produção os maltes utilizados são defumados na lenha de faia na própria maltaria da cervejaria. A Urbock é sazonal, sendo produzida entre os meses de outubro e dezembro para o inverno da cidade de Bamberg. Mais complexa que sua irmã clássica Marzën, ela passa um longo período maturando nas antigas adegas de mais de 700 anos no subsolo da cervejaria. Sua cor é marrom escura com média formação de espuma. O aroma é predominantemente defumado lembrando bacon. No paladar o malte defumado é evidente com um dulçor de caramelo incial seguido de um leve amargor.
