I was extremely eager to use the Canon C300 on our shoot in India upliftdoco and so to was my DoP Jary Nemo, a long-time friend and collaborator on various projects over the years. At the end of these long days it's not so much the camera as what one does with it. As filmmakers we all know that, but this was one special camera that raised not only the production standards of the local crew, people on location really did take us more seriously than those with DSLR's. Not to besmirch DSLR's. I have a very fine Gh2 which we calibrated alongside the C300. But the times I was shooting with the Gh2 I was more or less taken for a journalist, not a filmmaker. Not that I cared much, but where we required people to focus, the C300 was taken seriously there's no doubt about it.
