These are some tricks and tools that can help you speed up your windows desktop or laptop.
1. Run CCleaner
Ccleaner is a program to clean your computer of junk, browser history and cookies, registry, remove unwanted programs, fix errors, and boost your browser.
It can not only delete these files from your drive, but it can also check your library for any issues. You can also access the apparatus tab to uninstall programs and disable startup items, as well as view documents that take up a lot of space.
Third, you can use the Tools tab to remove any applications or projects that were previously installed on your framework. Bloatware is a term used to describe unwanted applications that PC manufacturers introduce. Getting rid of these can really speed up your computer.
2. Run malware bytes or Hitmanpro
This is the main reason computers slow down. Malware can be used to describe insidious programs that could cause damage to your computer. These can come from a variety of sources, such as email and programming downloads or even advertisements.
Hitman pro and Malwarebytes are the best programs for scanning and removing such malware and advertisements.
3.Disable Startup
Some programs open with windows and slow down the computer when loading the operating system. To disable these programs, right-click on taskbar and select task manager. CTRL+SHIFT+ESC key is used to open the task manager. Select the startup and disable any programs you don't want to start with Windows. This is the best way to fix startup problems with operating systems. The Operating system will load faster.
4. Select the best performance mode.
Many animation and graphic effects were added to the latest operating system. It is best to disable these effects to allow the computer to load smoothly. This will make the application appear smoother and more refined, which in turn will give you a better user experience. Control Panel>System and Security>System>Advanced system settings. Select the Performance area to adjust your system's performance and save it.
5. Windows Update and Driver Update
It is better to keep the windows up-to-date and the drivers up to par. If the drivers aren't up to code, the OS won't function properly. This causes the OS to slow down and become stuck in the meantime. So make sure to check your windows for the updates and drivers.
You can check your windows updates by going to Settings>windows Update>check for updates. However, if you wish to update the drives, Driver booster is the best choice. You can download it from their website for free and then run it.
6. Disk defragment
The information on a document is stored in at least one space on your hard drive, regardless of whether there is additional space. Defragmenting cleans up all data and adjusts it so that the data is easy to read on the computer.
Right-click the hard disk and go to My Computer. It will be named Windows (C:), but you can rename it. Go to Properties>Tools, and click Optimize.
7. Change CPU Core
This is my favorite tweak when my computer slows down. You can use all cores of your CPU. By default, windows only selects one core. However, if you change to all cores, the computer's speed will increase. You can also reassign RAM to the computer.
Go to Win+R>Run>type MSconfig>select Boot>advace>Select the process number and set it to maximum. Restart the computer.
8. Remove unwanted
Unwanted programs can be removed to improve performance and free up space on your hard drive. You can choose to remove programs that you don't use or need. This will speed up your computer.
For removing the program goto control panel or win+r>Run>appwiz.cpl. Double-click on any programs you wish to keep on your computer.
9.Install Ublock origin and uninstall the extension from browser
A browser extension is a small program which adds advanced functionality to your browser. However, sometimes unwanted extensions are installed on your browser that slow down your browser's performance and consume a lot of bandwidth. It is best to avoid installing such extensions in your browser. If you're using Google Chrome, click on the vertical dots at the top of the browsers to open the extension. Then choose the extensions tab to remove any extension that you donβt recognize.
You can use the Adblock plus or ublock origin to speed up your browser and stop advertisements.
10. Change theme and background
High contrast background and theme can slow down your computer. This is because high contrast themes use more CPU.
Do not install high-contrast themes or Desktop backgrounds. Use the Windows default theme only.
11. Disk Cleanup
To delete unwanted windows space, disk cleanup is the best option. You can use win+r>cleanmgr to launch disk cleanup. It will also delete temporary files. You can also clean system files, errors, system restores, and other options.
12.Upgrade hardware
If you have completed all of the steps above and your computer still isn't running fast, it might be worth upgrading the hardware. Modern operating systems require more RAM and SSD HDD.
SSDs are much faster than mechanical hard drives if they offer data transfer.
Sometimes, it is a good idea to upgrade hardware for improved performance.
These steps will help increase your computer's performance.
