A valuable gift for humanity
Have you ever come across a person who believes in donating organs? Are you also one of them? Do you know what is happening in this field now?
Organ transplantation and donation is a fundamental part of medical industry. Organs like kidney, eyes, liver and heart are being transplanted. If a patients kidney is failed then dialysis is the treatment given to them, till the time a donor is not available but in the case of heart failure if a donor is not found immediately then a life is lost. Are we helping these patienceâs in any way?
Donating organs when you die is a noble work, it brings back the lost faith upon humanity. The first ever successful transplant was of kidney done in 1954, Since then it was accepted by everyone and came into practice to save as much human life as possible. We have progressed a lot in the medical field, but in the spam of a decade we find myths attached to organ donation. Our law doesnât allow commercialization and dealing of human organs, itâs illegal and punishable crime. Still we find many stigmas dealing with the purchase of organs from living and dead people.
The haunting scandals on news is highlighted when we find the organs been taken without consent from the unprivileged part of the society without compensation and medical benefits. To look at the brighter side we find people adamant to donate organs. A 15-year-old girl was majorly injured in a road accident and she was declared dead, the doctors took documented permission from her family to donate her organs and they agreed, now her organs have given life to five people.
We should discuss openly upon organ donation and come to a conclusion to donate them and serve the society, in this way we will have knowledge of health education and we would teach others. A culture to help the one in need will automatically make our country develop and touch on new dimensions.

Issues Of Orphan ChildrenÂ
The upswing in the number of orphans all over the world is staggering, they live in institutional homes and have to follow everyday patter and rules.
you think the life of an orphan is simple, luxurious and filled with love?
Orphan children are more prone to emotional, psychological and behavioral issues when compared to children with parents. The lack of empathy and care pushes them to the extreme boundaries of problems, which takes immensely long time to cope up. These children have always been on focus when it comes to study their mental health, but still in few countries there is a dearth for such studies. The places which authentically study the structural behavior of these children say, they have highlights of anxiety, depression, difficult to interact within the society, anger and trust issues.
The study explains that many orphans have struggled emotionally in their life, some have been abandoned by their family because of social status, some have seen dreadful incidents and are in a state of trauma. There is a massive gap between normal children living with their family and orphans who are treated as a burden upon the society.
Orphans are directly exposed to abuse, trafficking, neglect and exploitation, which fills their innocent heart with terror. These children are distanced from love and care, they are insecure, poor, scared and also suffer physical abuse. All these factors are enough to make a child unstable.
These children feel as if they are stuck in spider web, there is no way out of it and not a single soul to help them come out of the trap. There are organizations to help out them but their reach is limited and they canât spread out to all. The overall development of orphans is at risk, we need to identify such children and provide them sessions with the psychiatrist. The mental health of orphan children is a sign of danger as they will also be a part of our society and itâs our responsibility to take care of them.

For the Fours
When I imagined about the team of âFor the Foursâ who initiate to save stray animals by connecting to help givers and help seekers. Â I assumed that these girls would be elderly ladies, who have seen struggles in life, but no I was completely wrong. Neha, Anushree and Avneet are young women still pursuing their studies as well as following their passion to help the strays.
These three girls have contrasting stories from one another. Neha conveyed that she has not been a pet lover as a child, eventually when she got a pet of her own five years ago, she started adoring animals. The tale of Anushree is different, ever since her childhood she loved animals but no one in her family did, few years back she started to watch documentaries being made on animals and last year she stumbled upon the organization âFor the Foursâ and ever since itâs been a great time. Avneet on the other hand has always loved animals from a very young age but her family has always been apprehensive to keep a pet. Once a cat just waked into their house, they adopted him and named him Oreo and thatâs how everyone became a pet lover in her family.
Below are some highlights of the interview-
What is the meaning of âFor the Foursâ and how everything started?
Neha said their focus was on the stray animals and we usually find cats and dogs on the street, thatâs how the name formed to save the four-legged animals, but then they realized that they also rescue birds and thatâs when they realized that their work is not only towards four-legged animals. Â Their tagline is âBe the force, for the foursâ.
It all stared in Bangalore around two years ago, when Neha was on her way to Majestic for her college, she saw a very badly injured dog on the side of the road and there was a cut on his body, she tried to get help for the dog and searched for places that could help the dog. When she reached back to the dog it had passed away and people were very ignorant towards the animals, thatâs when she felt there is huge communication gap between people trying to help stray and there is no common platform that connects them. From that day she decided to help and connect people.
What was the âStreet Photo Exhibitionâ held on 13th July?
The first step âFor the Foursâ team wanted to take was, to make people aware of their organization and thatâs why they conducted a photo exhibition in Bangalore on Church street. On the street the team just tied a string from one tree to another and hung the pictures their volunteers had clicked of the stray animals. People were curious to know what was happening, they shared their experiences to rescue stray animals, the ways they adopted them and thatâs how the exhibition was a success. The main aim behind the exhibition was to convey the message that people can adopt animals from the streets as well and not just focus upon the fancy breeds.
What is the aim of your organization?
Avneet conveyed that their organization wants to spread awareness to help stray animals who are in need of help and care. On their social media pages, they put up stories on how an individual can help these animals. They are working on a series called âTales of tailsâ and they post facts and tips to help them. Another aim is to reduce the stigma associated with helping stray, a lot of people want to pet the pure breed and forget about the stray animals. They want to convey the message that a stray animal is as kind as any pure breed animal.
What is your team all about?
The core team of âFor the Foursâ is of 6-7 members and they have 170 volunteers teamed with them. Everyone comes together and discuss the ideas for their events, adoption of animals. The team is always connected together and rescue as many stray animals as possible.
A message from âFor the Foursâ to the society will be?
Help the stray animals in all the small ways possible, rescue the injured animals, adopt them if you want to, keep a bowl of water and food for them. Donât tease or beat them, this attitude of our make the animals aggressive. They want to create a helpline for the strays. The journey started in 2017 with ten people and now they have grown in a community, they want to continue doing this work for the well-being of these stray animals. Itâs a long way to go.
