Rose's New Earth Hair Updo
"The length of Rose's hair was also an issue, since Billie Piper had had her hair cut after Series One, not realising that The Christmas Invasion would follow straight on from The Parting of the Ways. For the Christmas special - and later, for the Children in Need scene - she was given hair extensions. For New Earth, this was no longer a continuity problem, until it was realized that Zoë Wanamaker's availability meant that Cassandra's sole physical scene would have to be filmed in the middle of production of The Christmas Invasion. "And that," reveals Russell [T Davies], "is why Rose suddenly has her hair up in the nightclub - to hide the Christmas hair extensions!"" -- from Gary Russell's Doctor Who: The Inside Story.
