Societal beauty standards my beloathed

When you wanted me to let you in,

I told you I had some chaos within

I warned you to find yourself a girl that was filled to the brim with normalcy,

so that you could go sip that and forever be

happy.

I warned you that I'm something of a metaphorical orphan , I don't think of home the way others do

But you told me that none of that mattered... and I believed you.

I warned you about my past , and the way lying on my back

had been a buffer and rebellion for the feelings I didnt want to contact.

the break downs, leaving town.

And I asked you what is it you think you'll find

but you said nothing you knew would change your mind

I warned you

of my love.. so intense to the core

I would give my best , I'm the kind who would always love you more

I told you about the therapy , the clouds, the space I take

the healing I do at my own pace

Of course I thought you'd fight for us...Look at the way you begged for my trust!

when I sat there on the edge of that bed, trying my best not to shout... 

It was a punch to find that unlike me, you wouldn't do anything to work it out
