"Are you challenging me?"
"No, I’m not." The lion replies flatly, expression stone cold towards the wizard. Trying to reconcile their past relationship was obviously not something the other was interested in and had, originally, stated that he would only give Jenissi a chance out of amusement.
The lion hadn’t liked that answer.
Jenissi didn’t like it to the point that he didn’t even try. If the other wasn’t going to believe him, to take him seriously, then there was no point in wasting the effort that could be put forth into something more productive. He was not mean, rude or cruel to the wizard — he was just polite, but crisply so and nothing more.
