Just wanted to tell you that your POI GIFs are excellent!
Hope you're enjoying the series! đ
thank you! I am, I think evidenced by how many gifs I've been making per episode, haha. the downside, of course, is it makes watching a lot slower of a process when feeling compelled to make 3 gifsets an episode along the way đ but I like being able to pluck out an interaction or moment and shove it out there and like "hey, I feel something about this," and in a way that maybe other people also might appreciate.
when I was watching spn, I was writing up a recap with screenshots and snippets of dialogue from the transcript for the same reason but they ended up being so lengthy and unwieldy, I wanted to do something different with the current show I was connecting with. shorter posts, way more time consuming, but broader appeal

Garcia âDo It Yourselfâ Flynn decided that he would be the only one qualified to stitch his wound. He might curse his way through it, but it would get done. And doneâŠfairly well.
Everyone was dazed, and rightfully so. Losing a team member, losing family really, was the biggest punch in the gut. Flynn cursed the fact he couldnât take that hurt away from her. From Jiya. Connor ran after Jiya, Denise was discussing details with Wyatt and Lucy was just standing off to the side. Blank look on her features. The swelling around her eye was only getting worse and some trickles of blood still leaked from her lip. It hurt to see her like this.
He walked over to her, careful not to startle her. âLucy?â
She hummed but didnât look up at him. She took a ragged breath.
âCome on.â
He took her by the hand and lead her towards their makeshift medical bay. It was cold in every sense. It wasnât comfortable but it got the job done. He had her sit down, grabbed the first aid kit and stood in front of her.
The sound of it hitting the metal table seemed to break her trance and she watched him pull out the alcohol wipes and butterfly strips. She realized just then he hadnât tended to his own wound.
âFlynn, your shoul-â
âItâs fine,â he said softly. âItâs not bleeding much, the pain is as tolerable as it can be.â
âNo, no.â She starts to get up but he stops her. She gestured to his arm that was still in the sling. âYouâre literally down one hand, Garcia. You need to take care of yourself. Iâm fine, really.â
Heâs almost startled by the use of his first name but he recovers just as quickly. He gives her a look. They both know sheâs not fine. âTo hell with that right now. Let me help you.â
She wants to protest but she knows it wouldnât do any good. He was set on doing it and he was going to stop at nothing. So, he cleaned the blood up - and pretty damn well for only having one hand - and carefully placed the butterfly stitches to help close the cuts. Lucyâs eyes flutter closed as he works. His hands are rough, the result of working hands, but somehow feel so soft against her cheek and her chin. It was very⊠soothing.
âThere you go. You just need to put some ice on that eye.â
She almost wonders if heâll kiss the top of her head. He lingers there for a moment like he had the same thought. Neither of them move.
Finally she just says, âNow. Take care of yourself. Please.â
He smiles ruefully and moves to get the stuff he needs.
âSit down. You donât have to get up, I can get it for you.â She hops up and moves the trash from her own bandages. âWhat can I get for you?â
He tells her what he needs and where it is and she gathers it all quickly and lays it next to him. She helps him unhook and remove the sling but lets him remove his shirt. Heâs now only in an undershirt and his trousers.
Lucy clears her throat and takes a small step back. âIâd help you stitch up but⊠I donât know how. And if I did, I donât think I could actually stomach it.â
He chuckles with her. âI just about couldnât stomach it the first time, either. Iâm definitely not a doctor but I can get by.â
Lucy watches him work, what she can stand anyway, and admires his steady hand. His jaw was set and his teeth were obviously clenched but otherwise didnât show any emotion. Didnât even flinch. He finishes the stitches and reaches for the bandages. Lucy can definitely help with that and steps forward to help him place it. With no spike e words they effortlessly decide he holds it, she tapes.
Theyâre in a comfortable silence but she wants to say something. Something about what happened. Anything. She doesnât know where to start. âThank you,â is all that comes.
He looks up at her as she finishes the tape. âFor what?â
âForâŠâ Lucy pauses. She realizes that she doesnât know what sheâs thanking him for in this moment because thereâs so much to thank him for. She realizes that maybe sheâs taken him for granted this entire time. Him being there, being there for her, helping the team. They havenât exactly made it easy on him but he still stayed. He still helped. She could feel the sting of tears in her throat. âIâm sorry.â
Flynn furrows his brow, now concerned. Her eyes get glossy. Sheâs trying her hardest to not let the tears spill over. âLucy, Lucy⊠what, whatâs wrong? Are you hurt anywhere else?â
Of course he would be concerned about her well-being right now. Thatâs soâŠhim. She lets out a sort strangled sob. He stands up to hold her arm, steady her a little bit. âLucy?â
âIâve been soâŠso selfish,â she says it with such fury and anger at herself that heâs almost taken back by the time. âI was screaming at Emma, asking what do you doâŠwhen someone has taken everyone you love and you⊠thatâs what youâve been doing this entire time. Iâve been wallowing about my own losses for weeks but youâveâŠâ
She laughs at herself and angry wipes away her tears. He pulls her, carefully, to his chest and rests his chin on her head. Heâs not sure what he can say to comfort her but he definitely knows what sheâs feeling, what sheâs dealing with. âYou donât have to apologize. Not to me.â
They stand there for a while in silence. He holds her and she hangs on as if her life depends on it. She cried silently for a little bit. When she decides sheâs done, she comes to her senses, notices heâs still only in his undershirt and blushes. She pulls away and wipes her face. âSorry. Again.â
He shrugs it off. âWeâll figure it out, Lucy. We always do.â
She nods, decides sheâs comfortable with that for now. âWell, uh, guess Iâm gonna go change. You probably want to, as well. Iâll just uh⊠yeah.â
In true Lucy Preston fashion, she awkwardly lingers at the door before actually leaving.
âDonât forget the ice!â Flynn calls after her.
âYes, thank you!â She comes right back in to grab it, smiles and leaves again. Flynn softly smiles after her.

@ununpredictableme
This is why I couldn't get behind Root 100%. She's so demeaning to anyone who's below her intelligence, but most prominently, towards Reese. It could be my bias, but then again, she's never been gracious towards any other male except Harold, who's her intellectual and emotional superior.
I'm intrigued by your comment about sloppy writing because I didn't pick up on it.
I won't go into plot because there were issues in the first two seasons and I don't want to be hypocritical. After all, it is fiction and not a documentary. (Well, the Carter being demoted furing the investation by internal affairs, which, did it happen? was kinda weird)
However when it comes to characterisation? Carterâs final episodes? Her lone ranger arc, her not telling anything to anyone? Yes, I consider it sloppy writing, because the creators managed to do it by having Harold and John (JOHN) just nodding willfully to whatever she said.
Which brings us to the gotcha moments that instead of being written as natural progress of the storyline, they were used as "ha! you didn't see that coming? Did you?"
1. Carter knowing about Lansky's role (and did she kill a corrupted cop? why, yes she did)
2. Carter actually calling Harold and John to inform them where she goes instead of what they showed to the audience. Because? Deus ex machina. John ex machina.
and the worst of those moments?
3. John and Lionel saving Harold, Shaw and Arthur in Aletheia. But instead of showing that part of the story (if they could) they wrote an unbelievable ridiculous fight scene between Reese and Fusco as if John couldn't beat Lionel hands tied behind his back, plastered to the seven seas. Â
Should we discuss John's turn it on/turn it off relationship with alcohol. Nope.
----
Now, imagine Shaw's first apperance in the standard episode POV. Now I am aware that people in the internet loved it, but it made no sense as to why it was told that way. Even less sense made the fact they offered her a job. The first episodes of the same show, presented in detail how much Harold followed John's career and life (I know exactly everything) before offering him a job, we saw them trying with trust and friendship. It's what made the show. And then Shaw appeared and they fell over their feet to get her. Because all of the sudden, and for no apparent change, they needed her.
It's as if you take in a stray, that keeps insulting you, feeling superior to you and bites your hand when you feed it. And you have to thank it & being grateful. And they showed no explanation of why and how... They (writers/creators) just wanted her there.
@esteefee
People are expected to forget that Root straight up tortured and murdered Denton Weeks. I didn't forget that or that she kidnapped, drugged, and tortured Finch, who had to watch that. She isn't a good person despite being forced into better behavior by TM. So as useful as she was as an ally, I didn't appreciate her insults toward John, no.
@ununpredictableme
precisely this! I don't want to say more or I'd spoil it for you, but definitely yes to that. Finch was so against Root's methods of coercion and outright murder. So it was totally understandable that Finch doesn't trust her at all.
And finally, Root. Yes! Hersh has a better character development than Root, it's organic, it's slow...Â
But Root? Root is a sadist, who kills, maims, tortures people for her own gain; and amusement. Her backstory didn't justify anything. She abused Harold, physically and emotionally for days and we have no way of knowing what she would do to him, if John hadn't found them. She begins as a character with zero redeeming qualities -I can imagine her pulling wings out of butterlies as a child- and remain like that so far.
And Harold? he put her in a hospital and didn't run a check for the physicians? I realise the writers got excited with the actress but did next to nothing to take her from point A. to point B other than she's now in point B & the most important person in the story because the Machine also took a shine to her. For no clear reason that was actually written and shown to their viewers.
So having that character insulting John and no one to talk back at her is... a slap to the face.

Ironically, a clover necklace I got from my grandma and grandfather. Every time I have a test or important thing I need luck in I wear it, especially after he passed.
Snoopy!! I love that lil dog. About all my socks are with them on them, and it helps me relativate things. for example when I go to a job interview and I wear them I will stress less because those socks make it feel less "serious". Last job interview I had I wore snoopysocks and while I pretended to be a very Classy Young Entrepreneur I had to snicker at the absurdity of it instead of stressing out a lot. I don't know if it makes it a good luck charm per se, but it does bring joy which then helps to achieve more. Also @theadorelocksly enabled me with a snoopy necklace which looks like a super classy golden charm... until you look up close and see it's snoopy hahaha. I actually wore it to my internship and I got compliments on the look (they didn't notice it was a snoopy silhouette lol).
Quoting your idea back to you: "The Time Team ends up in something like the Framework from Agents of SHIELD" (^^)
(The promised blurb that I write while eating dinner, inspired by talk of Timeless, the Boys, and AoS that has chilled me to write)
âHow is security for tonightâs event?â Benjamin Cahill asked.
Denise Christopher glanced toward the exits, where agents were already stationed. âAll prepared and on alert. We have uniforms and undercover operatives as you requested. Theyâve been vetted thoroughly.â
âExcellent,â Cahill smiled. âYouâve been an excellent asset to us. Iâm pleased that someone at the department is willing to extend my party the same treatment as the other two.â
âYouâre on the ballot, itâs owed.â responded Denise as they passed by the stage. âGood luck out there tonight.â
âThank you, Agent Christopher. Now if youâll excuse me.â
Cahill walked off, leaving her on her own. Denise turned around and stared at the chairs and bleachers behind her. Banners with the pale gold Rittenhouse Party logo hung from the ceiling. A strange feeling washed over at her, one that made her feel sick looking at those banners. Denise couldnât stand straight for a moment, nearly dropping to the ground. It was gone as quickly as it passed though. She wasnât even sure why it had come over her...

Jiya flicked through the pages on her desks of memos and to-dos and committee reminders. It looked like another long day at the office, but that was to be expected for her. Then again, she was one of the three Rittenhouse Party representatives, although polls were favorable for more to be joining come the election. The bills she and the other two were planning would be going through easier.Â
âCongresswoman Marri?â
She looked up as the door to her office cracked open. âDaniel?â
âYour 9:00 just arrived.â
Jiya smiled and straightened some of the papers on her desks. âSend her in.â
A minute passed before her appointment entered the office. It was enough time for her to take a glance out her office window. It wasnât the best view, but it was still a beautiful one. It reminded her of what she was working for, what the party was working for.
Wait, what was she-
Her door opened and Jiya turned around to greet her guest with a smile, the strange thought of wrongness leaving her mind. âHello, Ms. Whitmore.â
~
âHey, what do you think of this?â
Rufus looked up from his storyboard and notes to see what Niles had done. He was working with the ad for Benjamin Cahillâs campaign. Numbers were good, but you could never be too cautious. Elections had been lost with complacency.Â
He watched the clip that Niles had put together. It was good- really good. Niles was good at this stuff. But somehow...Rufus felt sick watching it. Which didnât make sense, but watching Cahill smile at the end as he approved the message made him shiver.
âRufus?â
Rufus shook his head, but the wrongness was still there. âItâs good, Niles. Exactly what theyâre looking for.â
âAre you okay, man?â
âYeah, I just need to go take a break.â
Without saying anything else, he walked out the room and towards the bathroom. Once he was inside, Rufus looked at the reflection of himself in the mirror. For a moment, he seemed to be wearing a hoodie and a Star Wars t-shirt instead of a button down with the sleeves rolled up. He shut his eyes, wondering why he would wear something like that in a workplace.
What was happening?
~
âShe wonât talk. Trust me, Iâve tried.â
âThanks, Dave,â Wyatt patted him on the shoulder. âHow long has she been there?â
âThree days,â Dave shook his head. âAnd thereâs not a peep coming out about the other cells. We know theyâre out there.â
âLet me take a crack then.â
Twelve minutes later, Wyatt walked into the interrogation room with a plate of cookies. The woman behind the table glared at him as he entered. He set the plate down and pushed it across to her. Her glare settled on the cookies like they were something offensive.
âYou poison these?â she snarled at him.Â
âOnly the cupcakes have poison,â he smirked. âYouâve been here three days, and I know the food sucks. Luckily, we keep a tube of Nestle in the break room freezer. Not everyone has hot fresh cookies.â
She continued to glare.
âYou donât have to tell me anything about your operations,â Wyatt told her. âDave like to get right to the point. And being alone in this space...the loneliness really gets to you.â
Her silence persisted, so he tried a different tactic. âMy nameâs Wyatt, by the way. And you are.â
Finally, she spoke in a hoarse voice.Â
âAmy.â
~
Garciaâs eyes darted from side to side. He scanned the crowd as they ran from the doors, hoping that heâd find her. After the day heâs had, all he wanted to do was see her and go home. The card from the Rittenhouse party member was burning in his pocket.Â
âWe think youâd be an excellent addition to our team.â
âIâm not a politician.â
âBut you were NSA. You know government work. Coming back into the fray, helping us roll out the new policy if we get elected...think of the lives that you could save.â
Garcia shuddered again. It had felt wrong, even with the points that were being made. Policies made sense but he had a funny feeling about them. Perhaps it was just the time of year. The election was getting more and more fierce with each day, as were the attacks on the Rittenhouse Party. What if he got caught in one of the attacks? Who would be there for-
âIris!â he called, catching sight of her long brown braid swinging as she ran towards him. âThere you are.â
âHi, Dad,â she grinned. âMs. Patterson was explaining our homework so we would be able to understand it.â
âAnd your dad canât help with math?â he teased as she opened the car door.
She made a face. âItâs fractions and story problems.â
He chuckled, but somehow he felt sad. It didnât make sense.
~
âComfortable, Connor?â
Connor Mason turned away from the window of his âprisonâ. A gilded cage was perhaps a better description for where Rittenhouse was keeping him. It was as fine as the one he used to own back in reality. The one difference here was that he wasnât allowed a computer or phone. Rittenhouse had made sure that he wouldnât be contacting the outside world.
âThis technology wasnât meant to be built,â he muttered. âAnd especially not for this purpose to test your takeover strategy.â
âItâs alternative use thatâs effective for our interests,â Benjamin said. âWe make mistakes here, then perfect. You can live years within a minute here, Connor. Thatâs plenty of time for us, and plenty of time for your ragtag misfits to be swayed to our side.â
Connor chuckled. âSo you would think.â
Benjaminâs eyes narrowed. âWhat do you mean?â
âYou donât have us all.â
~
Lucy stared at the team laying on the hospital beds in a single row. All of them were there, and on the other side were people she didnât recognize. Were they Rittenhouse, or innocent civilians to be brainwashed? Either way, she wasnât ready to wake on up and find out. The strange devices attached to their heads reminded her of head massagers, which she was never using again after this. Could they be removed safely or not?
Making her way to end of the row, Lucy took the empty bed beside Garcia and sat down. Remembering how Connor had told them about his prototype, she remembered what she was doing. Whatever fantasy nightmare awaited her, Lucy couldnât lose sight of her goal. She had to find the way out and free the team.
âHere we go,â she murmured, lowering the device onto her head and closing her eyes.
The switch was instant. A sudden pressure bore down on her whole body. When she tried to scream, something caught in her mouth before she shut it. Her hands were above her somehow and could feel a breeze. She wriggled her arms out and realized she was covered in dirt. Quickly, Lucy scratched her hands at the surface above her head to dig away the dirt. By the time her head came free, she was able to see it was sunset, even though it had been pitch black when she arrived at the facility.Â
It took a while longer to pull the rest of her body out of the ground. Her nails were coated with dirt and blood. She spat out the mud that had gotten in her mouth and rolled away from the ground. Glancing over to the hole, a gasp escaped her when she saw what was inside. A skeleton wearing the same clothes she had on now was nestled in the shallow grave.
Someone had killed her in this reality.
Lucy stared for a moment at her alternate selfâs body, then pushed the dirt back over it. Once the bones were buried, she stood up and caught sight of a road. She made her way down to it and spotted the lights in the distance. It had been a long time since she had seen Washington DC at night in present day, but she could still recognize it.
âOkay,â she sighed, shaking the dirt out of her hair. âTime to find a ride.â
