Sentenced to 50 years, currently serving 10. #MatthewRushin - A black autistic man sentenced to 50 years for a non-fatal car accident, was set to serve 10, but we formed a petition and set him free. 2020 - May - Brought a tank to a protest and tear gassed peaceful protesters, then lied and said protesters threw gas first. August #ColemanSample shot in the back of the head by Virginia State Police, in Virginia Beach - They claimed he shot himself directly in the back of the head. #OperationSavePortsmouth Today there was a press conference/community meeting held due to the increase of violence in the city of Portsmouth. I was granted the opportunity to address the Portsmouth chief of police, local law enforcement, as well as the #FBI, #ATF, and other agencies. I made it very clear that pulling over and searching every car driven by community members, isn't "stopping crime", locking everyone up isn't " stopping crime"... Crime will stop when resources are granted to one of the poorest cities in the state. Members of the Portsmouth community have to pay a toll just to leave the city for better opportunities on the other side of the bridge. It can be $5.54 or $6.02 and that's just ONE way. Imagine paying that twice or more a day just to cross over into Norfolk & Virginia Beach. #BLM757 has extended its services with a proven track record of success in community building. Gina Best The mother of India Kager who was murdered via The Virginia Beach SWAT team with her child in the back seat. The 6th anniversary is this Sunday, September 5th, and we will be honoring her. We are fighting to have her case reopened! #SayHerName Renee Harris The mother of Bad Girls Club reality star Deshayla Harris who was struck by a "stray" bullet directly across from the police involved murder of #DonovonLynch at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on March 26th. When Ms. Harris received her daughter's phone, Deshayla's social media was completely erased and not by the family's doing. There are no body cameras or traffic cameras available allegedly. We are working to have a complete investigation into her case. #SayHerName We are starting a strong campaign behind impacted mothers, and we will need EVERYONES support. We drove 3 hours to #AugustaCounty Virginia because a #Karen slapped the phone out of a black Kings hand assaulting him, and HE was the one arrested for assault. He's a journalist, and was only doing his job, and inadvertently ended up as part of the story.
