He'd been back on land for all of twenty minutes. The ship that brought him back to land hadn't been in port for long, but it'd merely been something to get him back to land where he could regroup and plan his next move. Or not plan. Most of his actions were and weren't, but he digressed. The storm was bloody awful, and the previously mutinied pirate had so conveniently been stripped of what little money he had right before the bastard he used to call his first mate left him on the godforsaken little island. Needless to say, no inn for him.
He'd never made port in this town before, but he knew where he was after a bit of asking around; Jack knew enough to know how to get by until daylight. His Spanish was broken at best, but his best attempts at mimicking a Spanish accent seemed to convince the nun's well enough to let him stay for the night. Right after he'd come inside and spoken to the Mother in charge, Jack immediately started getting ushered to his room. Quite a few stares coming his way, presumably from women who were not yet christened and taken their vows. No, their looks weren't exactly the most pure of heart. Only one really caught his eye though. Curious eyes were watching him like the rest, but there was something that struck him. A certain restlessness came from her, something that told him she was almost too anxious to be where she was, bound in one place. Something he was all too familiar with. All the nun in training got was a lingering grin before he was led around a corner and she disappeared from sight.
For now.
Before he went too far down the hallway, he saw the door she was ushered into, presumably her bedroom. Good. One good thing about being a mere guest in the convent, if he was caught wandering the halls, a simple excuse of not knowing the strictness for enforcing lights out. He'd told the Mother that he was a merchant sailor that'd lost his vessel just off shore to the storm but managed to make it ashore; not someone who would've found his way into a convent under normal circumstances.
She was sitting on her bed, but not asleep. He figured not given the fact that a candle was still burning. Just as good looking close up. Just as intriguing.
