one of the reasons i never actually delete anything i wrote even if i decide it needs to be edited out is that alot of the time when im stuck somewhere on my stories i eventually realize that i actually DID already write something that works for the place im stuck!! especially because i tend to have several different stories about the same characters going at the same time, and eventually i can usually coalesce one story from the ten i was sketching out in my notes app
unfortunately the hard part of this is WHERE did i write that once scene i just realized i need because usually what i do is just skip a ton of lines and keep writing when i decide to cut something and it get pushed to the bottom of the document where there is inevitably many fragments i have to scroll through
never kill your darlings, but maybe try to organize them somehow
