“After days and nights of unconsciousness, Atreus slowly opened his eyes and found himself in strange surroundings… drowning in the fur of Pangur, the luck ?dragon?”

Okay, but holographic/iridescent accessories were popular for what feels like one year around 2020.
In 2027 we are bringing back full-on iridescent clothing. I am leading the charge.

are you going to Scarborough fair
The reason you can't be the next J R R Tolkien isn't because you don't have the talent, but because you're not the right kind of unwell. Tolkien wasn't bent for fantasy worldbuilding; he was bent for constructed languages, and got into fantasy worldbuilding in order to provide a material context in which to ground the notional evolution of the languages he invented. If you want to be the next Tolkien, you can't start with the worldbuilding; you've gotta find something extremely specific to fixate on, and develop it in such depth that inventing a world to contain it is genuinely the most logical next step.
#the best route is clearly to get really into a specific kink scenario and invent a world to justify it (via @salix03)
That's not even a joke. Developing a kink scenario so elaborate and so excruciatingly particular that it can only properly be contemplated in the frame of a world created specifically to contain it is genuinely closer to Tolkien's actual creative process than 99% of the stuff that plays at being heir to his legacy.
[Getting so angry it makes my brain disease worse] people sre supposed to be nice..
One of the worst feelings in the world: when you are just desperate, like claw-your-own-skin-off desperate, to create, but the only thing that even vaguely appeals to you to work on is a nebulous half-feeling that might be dreamily related to some half-formed notion of a concept. I must! Make! No thing! Only make!
Everything is boring. All activity is meaningless. I understand why Sherlock Holmes did cocaine.
every time i start to feel cringe for being too deep in the hyperfixation i remember the intense depression i have waded through and have to remind myself that enjoyment is fleeting (so grab it with both hands), and life is for loving (so hold that love close), and if anyone thinks i’m cringe they must not be having a very good time (and i hope they can find a good time soon).

I passed a flower shop next to a tattoo shop and at first I laughed because I thought it was ironic and then i freaked because IMAGINE YOUR OTP IN A FLORIST/TATTOO ARTIST AU
OMG I COULD TOTALLY IMAGINE THEM LIKE THAT IT WOULD BE SO PERFECT
I cannot BELIEVE a post I made when I was 13 is circulating! And also apparently started this trope? I thought somebody had the idea separately and it blew up that way😭

I think I’m literally never gonna be sick of this masterpiece. I think watching it on a loop for eight hours could fix me. Dancing’s what clears my soul. Dancing’s what makes me whole.
I just love that this very video is an accumulation of thousands of years worth of art made by people who have never met each other. The concept of this video was so completely unfathomable to every single artist who made the sculptures and yet they’ve all put something toward the creation of it.
ITS BACK ON MY TIMELINE
i can't be the only person who hates being called neurospicy. it's such a weird term. i'm neurodivergent. i'm disabled. call me that.
Im just a little confused about Nautika though. It seems Mahtu disappeared when she entered the cave, she says goodbye and acknowledges the possibility Mahtu was never real. Though it had been with her long before going to Antartica, right? So sometime after recieving the pink crystal.
According to her i2 artwork that pendant really did have a major influence on her transformation. There is a golden hand holding it out to her, which is interesting for two reasons: first of course because the Manus have hand iconography everywhere, and it's also present in Nautikas organic veil/wings. Second because it's very reminiscent of that painting of that one dude and God, suggesting Nautika has gained divinity or at least a divine blessing
I remember Nautika saying she looks just like the Mother Spirt she saw in her dreams while she was still human.
I think it's unlikely that the specific Mother Spirit Nautika and her grandfather believe in is real...
But the pink stone IS real and it does seem to have lead her to where she needed to be to receive that power.
That aside for a minute, it's also very clear that the mountains in Antartica have a living entity inside. The Manus are worshipping this thing, it was relied upon for Arcana's revival.
But is it really what the Manus say/believe it is? It seems that black goo may originate from it due to Arcana being made of that stuff (why she can stab herself in the head w her baton) and Nautikas monster form having black slime in it as well. But obviously we can see that Nautika has emerged in full control of her veil/wings and new powers and doesn't suffer from any classic Manus Vindicate things like deteoriating sanity or susceptibility to mind control etc.
As gross and horrifying as it is, is it possible this mountain entity is just a thing that exists as part of the planet and Arcana+Manus has just forced it to do what she wants? And maybe it isn't actually cool with being fed sacrifices and wanted to pull someone in to fight on its side???
Also wondering if the way the Apostles are given their immunity without the gooey masks that eventually turn them into monsters is by being fed the black algae... but I'm unsure if Naitika was made immune to the Flood/Storm I can't remember
Idk I think I need to replay the story again lol this is just some initial thoughts
Maybe worth mentioning Klein Blue here considering it's prominent in Nautikas design. The specific color blue the Manus use has been named in the new update and it is a reference to a real paint developed by a guy named Klein in collaboration w a paint company. It's both a synthetic ultramarine blue pigment suspended in a synthetic resin rather than other more commonly used binders to preserve the powdery, gritty texture of the pigment. Rather than a paintbrush Klein often used a brayer/roller to apply it.
Klein patented it in 1960 as well as a method of having human models covered in the paint interact with the canvas at his direction to create his art.
Anyway there is no Klein Blue on Nautikas actual body as far as I can tell-- only the organic veil that covers her head and back that she also uses to fly.
OKAY so Enigma learned from the Toybox research that deity worship is part in creating spaces immune from The Storm. This tracks because of Apeiron. Also the Manus worship Arcana as their god. Also also Nautika has become her own vision of a god now.
My brain is soup lately due to exhaustion/stress but I wanna make a new account to replay the story sometime and see if I can pick up on anything I missed the first time knowing these particular things now

"Yeah I'd be careful around those old ruins."
"No, no monsters. They steer clear of that place too."
"Oh you don't know? The place is littered with sentient weapons, just floating around the place."
"They're a lot like horses. Very skittish, and will kill or gravely injure you if startled. Very loyal if they trust you however"
"A lot of adventurers go there to try to claim one. They usually leave pureed."
"I've heard if you take old scrap metal bits with you, the swords will feed out of your hand."
Of course, as much of the previous research has shown, federal lawmakers who initially enacted blood quantum statues and Bureau of Indian Affairs administrative officials who drafted blood quantum rules and regulations did so, in large part, because of reasons related to property. That is to say, the seemingly cut-and-dried math of blood quantum was a cynical, underhanded way to minimize the funds, benefits, and resources expended on behalf of Native nations and their citizens. The formula seemed to always end up as subtraction, magically reducing the actual number of communities and individuals eligible to receive federal financial support. As the population was fractionated and subtracted, the expenses associated with the trust obligation diminished in tandem. These bureaucratically vicious yet bloodless means sought to erase entire peoples and thereby reduce the federal budget allocated under treaties and statues to native affairs. Interestingly, and not surprisingly, federal and state officials creative applied precisely the opposite social and racial arrangement to African Americans. In that instance, blood quantum was all about addition. By devising the infamous one-drop rule that maintained a single drop of African blood made a person Black, the government sought to increase the number of persons who could legally be held in bondage, thus setting up a maniacal system to maintain slavery as an economic institution in perpetuity. After emancipation, the calculation continued to support patently discriminatory Jim Crow legislation that severely constrained the civil and human rights of African Americans even after the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments to the Constitutions had been ratified in 1865, 1868, and 1870, respectively, in the way of the US Civil War. As Vine Deloria Jr. succinctly put in 1969 in Custer Died for Your Sins, “Because the Negro laboured, he was considered a draft animal. Because the Indian occupied large areas of land, he was considered a wild animal.” In a society that valued property over virtually everything else, more draft animals were required to maintain and grow the economy, and fewer wild animals were necessary because they were considered nuisances or threats. Thus, blood quantum was a powerful economic tool created by the US government to control resources and property by simple addition or subtraction, depending on the need. It was never about kinship or humanity.
