uniwolf is queerplatonic because cream unicorn is cupioromantic so their side is platonic and werewolf isn't too comfortable with a lot of the expectations of a romantic relationship and has enough issues to be honorary aro. okay yay
although werewolf is used to getting shoved into a role and playing along this was the first time when she saw the other actively suffering because of it. she didn't want to have so much power over cream uni, she didn't want to watch them get worse in real time as they focused less on themself and their friends and more on her, always her, only her. she loved them but she refused to play into what was hurting them so much
after the "breakup" cream unicorn's first instinct was to hate werewolf but more than anything they wanted normalcy back. they saw her as someone who betrayed them and abandoned them like everyone else did before her but they still clung so hard to the idea of their perfect fairy tale prince* who loved them and only them, forever and ever. werewolf is nothing like that but she just needed to play her part, to fit into their view of a "proper" relationship and into their ideal world.
its no wonder they retreated to dreams, they can replay their perfect story again and again, with an end they know and have memorized.
