Welcome back to Meta Station! We’re back from the magnificently delirious weekend of nerd fun which was Unity Days 2017, and we’re here to tell you all about it! Joining us are special guests Brittany Rae and Robyn Jeffrey (formerly of The Giantist, now co-hosts of the Afictionados podcast network) and Sam Coley of TellTaleTV, who – along with The Dropship’s Jo Garfein – were our fellow panelists for the Unity Days Friday night Meta Panel, where we answered fan-submitted questions and meta prompts about the show. For those of you who missed the fun live, we’ll recap our weekend experience, from the best questions we got at the panel to our favorite cast member encounters to the most exciting season 4 tidbits we picked up along the way. We also got way too many meta questions submitted to answer live at the panel, so we’re recreating the magic here and answering a few more of our favorites on air that we weren’t able to get to at Unity Days, discussing everything from Hogwarts to My Little Ponies. And stay tuned at the end of the podcast to hear our post-Unity Days conversation with Caitlin Walsh and Kelsey Juntwait of Talk Nerdy With Us, recorded in our hotel room right after the con ended, with more fun stories about cast encounters and nerdy fun. Thanks so much to Leana Santos, Miah Bannerman, the whole staff and volunteers of Unity Days, and of course the amazing cast of “The 100” for a totally amazing weekend we will never forget! We’re even more hyped for S4 than we were before!
Anya is live and ready to show you everything. Watch her strip, dance, and perform exclusive shows just for you. Interact in real-time and make your fantasies come true.

The six members of the Unity Days Meta Panel would like to ask you - yes, you! you specifically! - to submit meta prompts, questions or topics you'd like us to discuss about the show. Instead of a live Q&A after the panel, we'd like to open this up to everyone (you do NOT have to be attending the con to submit a question!); we have questions for each other but also want to spend as much time as possible talking about the things YOU want to talk about.
What can you ask? ANYTHING! (Within the spirit of Unity Days, of course.) Want our thoughts on Jasper's character arc? Season 4 predictions for Octavia? Speculation about the fallout of the political power vacuum in Polis? Debate over who has the best hair? How to start a podcast with your best friend? WE ARE HERE TO ANSWER YOUR MOST BURNING QUESTIONS
Just fill out the form below and submit it before 12 pm noon (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, January 11th, and it will get added to our list!
META PANEL QUESTION SUBMISSION FORM
We're so excited to hear from you all! Thanks for helping us make this an awesome panel!
Sincerely,
Jo, Claire, Erin, Brittany, Robyn and Sam
UNITY DAYS 2018: SOPHOMORE AFFAIR SECURES EXCITING LINEUP
Back for its second year, Unity Days will be returning to the Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Harbourfront this January, and promises to bring an intimate fan experience like no other. Brought to you by Unity Events Canada, the three-day convention celebrating the CW’s The 100 was a success in its inaugural year—bringing together a diverse group of fans to talk and meet with one another, and the show’s talented cast.
We had the opportunity to attend the convention earlier this year, and were highly impressed with the Unity Events team’s dedication and passion to making Unity Days a memorable event for the fans. The panels were a delight to attend, and will once again be moderated by Cancer Gets LOST’s Jo Garfein. Jo’s banter with the cast made for many unforgettable moments on-stage.
While many details (and surprises!) are still to be announced in the coming months, there will be a Reviewers’ Panel featuring contributors from UntitledTV, Hypable and Seat42F to discuss “their coverage of and appreciation for The 100.” We attended The Meta Panel in 2017, and it was very interesting hearing the writers and content creators discuss topics ranging from the show’s themes and character development.

Similarly, the cast panels were a spectacular showcase of the cast member’s interactions off-screen, and with fans. There were opportunities to ask the panels questions, and listen intently as they candidly talked about their own character traits, fans, and the show in general.
Like last year, the Cancer Gets LOST Charity Auction will take place on the first day, Friday, January 19th. Raising over $4,500 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the silent auction will once again feature a plethora of The 100 items including fan art, Pop figures, and much more!

There are a number of passes and opportunities to meet (and greet) your favourite cast members, including autographs, photo-ops, and meet and greets. In addition, you can take home a piece of Unity Days with their official merchandise of t-shirts and posters. For those vendors looking to have their fandom items on-sale at the event, apply on their official website.
And remember, the theme is unity. This event is all run on support, love and respect for one another, which helped make the first event such a huge success! We can’t wait for another great convention this January. If you’re a fan of The 100 and want to take in the fun in beautiful Vancouver, this is the event for you!

UNITY DAYS 2017: CELEBRATING “THE 100″ AND ITS FANS
A post-apocalyptic television series that has captured the attention of viewers across the globe, fans of the CW’s The 100 are awaiting a highly anticipated fourth season. Filmed in B.C., the drama follows a group of survivors following a nuclear apocalypse on Earth—as the individuals face difficult choices of morality and heroism in a fight for survival.
Proud to welcome fourteen of the show’s cast members, including series regulars Eliza Taylor (Clarke Griffin), Bob Morley (Bellamy Blake), Christopher Larkin (Monty Green), Lindsey Morgan (Raven Reyes) and Richard Harmon (John Murphy), fans will also have the opportunity to interact with fan favourites including Jarod Joseph (Nathan Miller), Sachin Sahel (Jackson), Chelsey Reist (Harper McIntyre), Katie Stuart (Zoe Monroe), Luisa D’Oliveira (Emori), Jessica Harmon (Niylah), Ty Olsson (Nyko), Tasya Teles (Echo), and Toby Levins (Carl Emerson).
We spoke with Unity Events Canada’s Co-founder and Executive Director, Leana Santos, about the upcoming convention and its unifying message. Santos has a wealth of experience in event marketing, promotions and planning, having interned at Lionsgate Films, and worked on international promotions for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1.
How much time has the team spent in the planning phase of Unity Days, was Vancouver always the primary location option? What has this experience and fan support meant to you all?
We’ve been planning for months! Vancouver just made sense to us—it’s where The 100 is filmed and they’re actually wrapping up shooting season 4 around the time of Unity Days. With that being said, you never know who’s going to show up to the convention! The experience so far has been incredible and it’s quite the learning curve taking on this project. The fans’ support means so much to us, we’re always connecting with them over social media. Fans are coming from all over the world to Vancouver just for Unity Days. It’s amazing.
Taking place during the convention will be a silent auction and charity concert with Cancer Gets LOST. A fitting (you share many of the same values) and special charity doing great work, what does this organization bring to enhance Unity Days? How important is their involvement to you?
[Unity Events Canada Co-founder] Miah and I have always wanted to give back to the community. I first heard of CGL through its Co-Founder and Executive Director, Jo Garfein, and paid close attention to their initiatives. We got Jo on board with Unity Days as the official panel moderator, and knowing she has CGL, I immediately wanted to work with them. All of the proceeds from the auction and charity concert will be donated to CGL. I also have to add that we’re working on adding a couple more performers to the CGL charity concert—stay tuned!
The charity concert will take place on January 14th, and will feature Carry Hatchet (Christopher Larkin) and Wendy Biscuit.
You have an amazing lineup of guests, and fans have the opportunity to interact with the cast through panels, meet and greets, photo ops, and more. What are you hoping guests and fans take away from this convention?
We want fans to go home with a sense of unity—knowing they belong to a wonderful community. The 100 connected hundreds (no pun intended) of fans together in an online space. We want them to not only meet the amazing cast, but to meet [fellow] fans as well.
On your website and socials, it's noted prominently to "leave ship wars and bad vibes at home!" How important is it to remain an inclusive, safe and friendly environment?
Inclusion is extremely important to us. We don’t tolerate any type of bullying. This convention is a safe space for everyone. We want our attendees to have fun!

Many thanks to Leana for speaking with us about Unity Days 2017. For further details, including a full event schedule, autograph, photo op and meet and greet opportunities (feast your eyes on the options, there is a full menu to choose from), visit their website HERE. For the fans it proclaims, and for the fans it shall be! The first of its kind in Vancouver, we know this is an event that The 100 fans will not want to miss. Be sure to tag your social media interactions with #UnityDays2017 to share in the excitement!
If you’ve listened to this week’s podcast with our pilot recap, then the cat’s out of the bag, but for everyone who hasn’t had a chance to listen yet, Meta Station has some super exciting news!
We told y’all before that we would both be attending the Unity Days con in January 2017, but the extra super cool part is that we’re going to actually be appearing on a panel!
We’ll be joined by Brittany Rae and Robyn Jeffries from The Giantist’s The 100 podcast, Samantha Coley from TellTaleTV, and Jo Garfein from The Dropship for a fandom podcasters panel to talk about this show we all love.
It’s extra super exciting that this lineup is a panel of ALL LADIES, most of whom are queer, and we’re so grateful to this con for championing our voices! The theme of Unity Days is all about celebrating the things that unify us as a fandom rather than divide us, so we’re stoked to get to hang out with this group of brilliant kickass ladies repping multiple different ships.
We’d love to do a meetup if we have Meta Station listeners who will be coming to the con, so we’ll keep you posted as our plans firm up, but in the meantime, Erin is trying to emotionally prepare herself to be in the same building as Bob Morley and Claire is praying a novena that Paige and Ian make a surprise appearance, so we’re both at like thermonuclear excitement levels.
Thanks so much to Miah, Erica and Leana for coming on our podcast and for all their hard work putting this con together! Follow them at @unityeventscanada for up-to-the-minute details!
