Mile Post 44.50 by Carlton Holls Via Flickr: As the sun sets in the west, an eastbound freight train ascends the grade at Mile Post 44.50 of the Union Pacific Subdivision in Elburn. Seasons Greetings friends! Thanks so much for your support during 2021. As the year closes, with the continued uncertainties of these times, please take good care. Cheers to the hope of getting our lives and our world back on track as we roll forward into 2022.
Sugar beets at Caliente by Moffat Road on Flickr.
Via Flickr: On the afternoon of June 29, 1996, a westbound Southern Pacific unit sugar beet train circles the horseshoe curve at Caliente, California, on the busy Tehachapi Pass route. Four new SP AC4400CWs power the train, with Nos. 321 and 107 on the point and Nos. 266 and 282 operating in DPU mode on the rear.
North Jct by Michael Berry Via Flickr: All of CP 650 is visible as it passes underneath CP's Vaudreuil Sub. Barely visible in the far distance is an intermediate signal located by the Lachine Canal showing a clear indication. At left is the North Jct Lead, which commuter trains use to get to or from the Adirondack Sub. KCSM 4755 brings up the rear of the train.
