With the drawings we had made, we took them to each of the production meetings with us, all the way up till we had our first model to show.
With these drawings we would have accurate descriptions on what part of the set it is, what color we will be painting it, and where we got the idea of it from, so if the director had given us a an idea that they had, or something to go away and look at, we would come back with some sketches of the idea that they had given us, and see what they think of it, and if they like it we will go ahead and make a more detailed version of the sketch, and if they do not like it then we will go back and edit the sketch, unless they say they want to cut the idea, or give us a new idea, that we can work on.Â
Also when we had the scale drawings, it gave the director and the technical team and idea of how big the set will be, so they can get an understanding of where they can and can not put things, such as if sound wanted to put a speaker in one place, and when they look at the scale drawing notice they can not they will go back to sound and replace the speaker, and the same for the director. They can now see where they can put actors and where the can not put actors. and the amount of acting space they really do have.
