Hey if you're trans and a furry (me too), help me out a sec!
I am writing an essay currently that explores the question "How can anthropomorphism and zoomorphism help a transgender person develop their own identity and sense of self?"
I say "explores" and not "answers" because there is no one set answer, we all have our own unique relationship to our fursonas regarding our gender identity and expression that is personal to each of us individually.
Basically, i want you to go to my ask box and tell me about this! Why did you pick the animal you chose (if it relates to your gender), how you express your gender through them, how they make you feel, if this has made an impact on your identity at all, stuff like that!
I tried this about a month ago on twitter and while there were some good responses, most were stuff like "i chose a cat because i think theyre cute" - thats not what im asking, just tell me stuff about your fursona that specifically links to your identity as a trans person! You can also tell me if it links in to any other marginalized identity you are such as POC or neurodivergent
Even better - if you're an artist, tell me about your art and how it relates to my essay question!
This is a topic i've been very passionate about for a while and plan to delve into it even further in my dissertation next year!
