8. do you get confused with other nationalities? if so, which ones and by whom?

Oh, sure thing. With Russians, mostly, by people who are not from Eastern Europe, so, understandable. It’s kinda subtle when you’re looking from the outside.

10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?

for me it’s халера which basically means cholera. I guess my ancestors had some hard time with that disease so they started swearing by it.

15. a saying, joke, or hermetic meme that only people from your country will get?

oh man I bet there are heaps of those but the only one I can recall now is чарка-шкварка that can be very loosely translated as “a cup (of alcohol) and a fatty snack”. Like this:

The expression describes a state of economic well-being when you can comfortably afford to party/drink and eat nutritious foods. It sounds archaic and is used ironically to mock the low expectations we as a people have from our economy and salaries. Depressing eh
