It doesn’t take much heckling to get her attention. No, Emily always seems to make time for him. It’s something that never stops painting a lopsided grin across the Slytherin boy’s face. 

Now that she mentions it, his hair is probably in need of a trimming. It’s gotten a bit long up top, falling across his forehead if he doesn’t tame it with fingers. But this is not the news. The news is far more exciting. “What I offer to you is..” Jason tosses a glance to his left, his right, leans in close and whispers, “..adventure.”

And with just that, he leans back. Eyeing her smugly as he plucks her scarf from the table and twines it round his neck. “You and me, Chica. Tomorrow morning.” The cobalt striped scarf has an unmistakable fragrance. Warm, but not weighted. A familiar scent that relaxes him, makes him feel-

Her stare has him returning to their moment. Continuing his proposal, he can barely contain the excited smile. “Lets sneak into town, yeah? Honeyduke’s open’s at 8, but if we go early we can watch the sunrise from the hill.” 

Say yes say yes say yes say yes, ricochets round his head like a skipping record. They’ve not spent much time together recently, tests approaching and Emily holed up in library. Jason visits between classes and practice, brings her snacks and tries desperately to lighten her energy. He just wants to spend some time with her, and surely Emily could use the break from all the books and quills.

For a second, Jason is speechless. Of course he showers, might miss a few  laundry days, but he revels in the chance for an almost too hot shower. Wash the  damn day off of him. Can’t stand the stench of Gotham’s underground. 

“Em seriously? Did fuckin’ Grayson tell you that?” He’d put money on it being Dick. When the boy scout wasn’t busy doing back flips, he  certainly wasn’t minding his own business.
