I ahev to disagree with your friend here, Kira is not that selfish, light really wanted a world where justice was always triumphant, even if that meant getting to it ina despicable manner. Lelouch was all over the place, he wanted th world to be peaceful for 'nunally' for the future and Britannia to collapse and something or whatever. I find that even though Kira lost his way at one point, he made a much better Byronic hero than lelouch; I found code geass to be largely based on plot twists and not actual logic (death note is the same but less overdramatic) and I think sunrise did a poor job. No doubt code geass was entertaining, but it does not deserve the praise it gets, there are so many better anime out there. I hope I don't sound forceful I just wanted to voice my opinion on code geass, and i don't hate it, it's just severely overrated.
