Hello! I've been playing your Undertale flashgames collection, and I've been having a ton of fun! I've just run into an issue on the third game:
Being as spoiler-free as possible--I got a key via a trade, but it's not working on the obvious target outside. Is that a bug or a feature? As in, am I on the right track or am I being bamboozled and need to keep looking?

concerning your problem - that's a feature, but i suppose i should've made it more obvious that this approach won't work. if you look at the normal click dialogue for the "target", it should say that it's too high to reach. find a way to get it down first!
i'm aware of some bugs in the game (the most notable ones being papyrus skipping dialogue, the game crashing after saving/deleting saves; sorry if you've run into those!), and i'm working on an update to fix them, and i'll be sure to add a hint for this as well!
