Asgore stood in the living room of his home, reading a book from his extensive library. This one so-happened to be a mystery novel, one of his favorite genres.

He heard a knock at his door. Asgore placed a bookmark on what page he was on before setting the book down on the nearby coffee table and answering the door. He was surprised to see a tall skeleton on the other side. “Papyrus! I didn’t know you would be coming by today.”

Papyrus let out a faint smile. “I’m always full of surprises. Sans is out in Waterfell, so I figured I’d stop by.”

Asgore returned Papyrus’ smile. He stepped aside and said, “Well, come on in then. I can make you some tea if you like.”

Papyrus stepped inside, removing his hands from the coat pockets of his orange hoodie. “Oh, I’d like to take you up on that offer, but I’m not feeling it in my bones.” The skeleton lightly chuckled. “What have you been up to, Asgore?”

“Oh, I can’t say it’s been very exciting down here, but I have been catching up on my reading. You ever do much reading for fun, Papyrus.”

“I don’t do much reading at all, actually,” Papyrus replied as he looked at Asgore’s library. “Sans sometimes does, though. He’s the smart one.”

Asgore pat Papyrus’ shoulder. “Oh, I wouldn’t sell yourself short like that. You’re a very smart skeleton, as well. You’ve certainly shown that to me.”

Papyrus smirked. “Well, if you say so, Asgore.” He reached his hand over and grabbed onto Asgore’s hand. “Maybe you can show me one of your books one of these days.”

Asgore nodded his head. “Well you’re welcome to them all. I’ve read every single one of them at least once. I can’t say most of them are very useful to me anymore.”
