I present, UnstableTale (Or UnderStable). An Ideal AU where the monsters that are trapped in the underground aren’t real monsters, but were brainwashed into believing they are.
So in a way, the sick and the broken were tossed/banished into the underground.
Toriel and Asgore are just humans with swollen earlobes, and developed tumors in the shape of horns.
Sans and Papyrus has schizophrenia and autism, Papyrus has the mindset of an unstable child, and Sans was dubbed insane due to realizing that everyone in the underground are humans. (and look how that turned out.)
Alphys and Undyne were both born with Harlequin-type ichthyosis, Undyne’s was more severe.
Blooky suffers from depression and has thick clouded corneas. And Mad Dummy suffered from gangrene (Which got treated) and PTSD.
MK lost their arms to leprosy, and Mettaton was born with without arms or legs, and has a poor heart (He has an artificial heart).
The idea of Asriel, was that he was born with the same tumors that his parents had, but due to complications, he perished from those tumors. The only person who was by his side on his death bed, was the healthy kid Chara.
Chara and Frisk are the only healthy humans that were banished into the underground out of suspicion of being ill.
