Basic Headcanons:

The Poketale verse’ kinda works like the Mystery Dungeon games, where pokemon replace humans as the advanced inhabitants of the world. They have their own technology, civilizations, etc.

Lore-wise, Eevees and the Eeveelutions (AKA Eeveons) were greater in number compared to other species of pokemon. In time, Eeveekind and the other ‘mons grew apart and eventually a rift formed, throwing the two sides into war. Using the power of seven different Eeveelutions, Eeveekind then banished the other ‘mons underground.

Eeveekind can be bipedal, quadrupedal, or both (in which they can switch between walking on four feet or two feet). Chara, for example, learned how to walk bipedally after they were taken in by the Dreemurrs.

Evolutions do not correspond with soul color. An Eevee can have a green soul and become a Glaceon, for example.
