19: What boosts your OC’s confidence the most?
For Pirossa, this is no doubt narrowly escaping some really tight, stupid situation that he got himself into. There was that time that he tricked Rian into marrying him. For someone who got a serious metaphorical boot straight up his ass, he seemed pretty damn happy about it after the annulment went through. :P
26: What is the most intense thing your OC has been battling with?
Tbh, Trean’s been through the fucking wringer.
She’s been in love with three people in her life. The third one she married, but the others?
The first she lost by falling out of her original universe by accident, and never got to see him again.
The second covertly tried to unleash a genocidal magic plague to kill all the humans, and although she stopped him from doing it, she couldn’t bring herself to kill him, and she didn’t succeed in making him repent either (solution: eternal magic coma, like Snow White). To be clear, this guy left a hell of a scar, and her feelings about him remain complicated pretty much forever, in no small part because of how it made her feel about herself and her own internalized prejudices; the fact that she couldn’t tell anyone about what he did because this all happened at a very precarious political time when humans needed to be assured that Shadowkind weren’t a threat to them, so he ended up with a reputation as a martyr for equality that needed to remain in place for political reasons; and he’s also the father of her oldest biological son (Farael), which preemptively kind of fucks up her relationship with him as well.
Then there’s the whole thing where she’s imprisoned in an illithid cell for a full year at the end of time. But who’s counting? That’s only a year, and she made it back to the other side of the wormhole to her own era. Dramatically regrettable relationships leave a mark that lasts WAY longer than that. ;)
