Ce jeudi 19 juillet 2018 la “précieuse” Nike Air Max 1 JCRD couleur Turbo green, taille 47,5 eur a été volée dans mon atelier. J’avais cette paire depuis 4 ans et je ne l’avais jamais portée. Je voulais faire une sculpture “ready made” à propos de la manière dont la culture de la basket définit l’identité sociale des personnes vivant en cité HLM. Quand la paire a été volée, la “précieuse boîte d’emballage” était toujours là avec à l’intérieur une enveloppe ouverte avec mes coordonnées qui traînait dans mon atelier. Tout d’abord déçu je décidai finalement d’utiliser la boîte comme partie intégrante de la sculpture que je voulais créer initialement. I had this new pair of shoes for 4 years and never wore them. I wanted to make a ready made sculpture about how the sneaker culture shape social identity of people living in French housing projects. When the sneakers have been robbed the “precious“ sneaker packaging was still there with an open envelope with my contact details which was in my studio.
