Maybe it was just poor luck, but James found himself trapped deep underground surrounded by monsters that seemed to want to do him or his daughter home. Escaping the ruins had been a challenge in itself... but the snowy land he now found himself in was much worse.
Carrying his child on his back the blond had to neatly avoid or traverse dangerous traps, his body screamed for rest... but there was just nowhere safe to hunker down. Currently he was making his way cautiously through a trap of heavy swinging spikes, one wrong step and he could easily be impaled. But there was a pattern.
A pattern which he very neatly followed, finally reaching the other side with a heavy sigh of relief. “Are you tired Daddy? Should I carry you?” Hannah asked from over his shoulder, prompting a soft chuckle from her father. “N-No I’m fine... lets keep going okay?”
Or at least they would have... were it not for an armored skeleton stood in their path, his own blue eyes widening as they met. It was only a subtle change in his posture, but James’s feet were set, as if ready to bolt.
