Found in the rainforests of Indonesia, this flower can grow up to 3 feet tall along with the weight of upto 15 pounds !
This Rare flower is actually a parasitic plant which has no visible leaves, roots or even stems.
It attaches itself to a different host plant in order to obtain water along with other nutrients.
When this flower blooms, it emits odor similar to that of rotting flesh. This smell attracts insects that pollinate the plants.
Also, This species has been known to bite people. In one of the most detailed verified instances of anย A. feroxย bite, the victim immediately experienced dull pain of a very mild intensity, which, according to the victim, was similar to a wasp sting.
The pain reached its maximum intensity after two hours and disappeared completely after 12 hours. Doctors confirmed an area of swelling approximately 6ย mm in diameter at the site as well as an associated circle of redness that spanned 30ย mm in diameter.
No fang marks were visible on the victimโs skin, but aย tetanusย vaccine was administered, and no further treatment was needed. After one week, dark red bumps with many small blisters appeared around the bite site, but after one more week the skin completely recovered.
