I've always thought that the most unbiased thinking happens when you're surrounded by people. Obviously this cannot be your best friends or people you're supposed to be having an engaging conversation with; it needs to be a lot of stangers. I've been having trouble thinking of the future. As far as I can see is walking across stage and then my future goes black. It's like I'm going to die. My whole life I have wanted to move away, but finally being in a place where I have friends, the guy, and job opportunities makes the decision about even leaving in the first place (let alone where to move). Now back to the guy. Our middle of the night talks include us fantasizing about moving to the west coast and starting this life where no one knows us and where we can do and become anything. And up until I got practical, that was the genuine dream of mine (the west coast that is). I know if I don't pick the west coast there is a zero percent chance of us staying together, but meh I'm in my early 20s, I have plenty of time. But if I do pick the west coast, well then time doesn't matter. And that freaks me out. So instead of dealing with the fact that this almost year long battle is finally ending and I'm getting the guy and being happy, or being excited that the even longer dream of moving away is approaching in: 80 days, I am deciding not to think about it at all. Because in my crowded space, filled with strangers who cannot talk to me, the only place I want to be is in this movie theater, in iowa city, next to him. Unbaised.
