Umalyan Creation Myth
Part 1: The End of Infinity
Umalyan creation myths hold that there is a plane of existence beyond time and space, where everything is conceivable, all of it is true, and a single infinite consciousness comprehends it all.
A reality without limits, where everything is true yet also false, and infinite states in between.
A reality of no beginning or end; no future, present or past.
The universe was called into being when the infinite consciousness of this plane, tired of its perfection, tore itself to pieces, and from the gaps in between rushed all forms of matter and energy, as well the fabrics of space and the flow of time.
Into this new universe were born the Primordial, the four parts of what was once a single infinite mind. Their consciousnesses began to spread outwards into this new, finite void. Where before they had been one, now they were fragments, connected but separate, capable of independent thought, interest and desire.
The infinity outside the universe had been shattered, and in its wake it had left a reality of boundaries, borders and limits.
A universe of potential.
A beginning.
