Experience the ultimate flavor explosion with our Ultra-Smashed Burger recipe. The secret is in smashing the beef patties to create a crispy crust while keeping the center juicy and delicious. Top it off with classic American cheese, fresh veggies, and a tangy sauce for a mouthwatering burger experience.
Ingredients: 1 pound ground beef 80% lean, 20% fat. Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste. 4 soft hamburger buns. 4 slices of American cheese. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon ketchup. 1 tablespoon mustard. 1/2 cup thinly sliced iceberg lettuce. 1/2 cup thinly sliced pickles. 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion. 1/4 cup thinly sliced tomatoes.
Instructions: Cut the ground beef into four equal pieces and roll each one into a loose ball. Warm up a griddle or cast-iron skillet over high heat until it's smoking hot. Make a patty out of the beef by putting a ball on the pan and pressing it down with a spatula right away. Add pepper and salt. After one to two minutes of cooking, the patty should have a crispy, caramelized crust. Add a slice of American cheese and flip the patty over. Cook for another minute or two, until the cheese melts. In the same pan, toast the hamburger buns until they are lightly browned while the patty is cooking. Take a small bowl and mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. This will make the sauce. Put the burgers together: Put the sauce on both sides of the buns that have been toasted. Cover the bottom bun with a patty. Next, cover it with lettuce, pickles, red onion, and tomato slices. Put the other half of the bun on top. Serve right away and enjoy!
