I'm at the North Sulawesi Provincial Language Centre to participate in PKBI event. PKBI (Peningkatan Kemahiran Berbahasa Indonesia) is a training programme, like a short course, to train people to use good and correct Indonesian language according to standards.

Organised by the Agency for Language Development and Cultivation, this programme is closely related to UKBI (Uji Kemahiran Berbahasa Indonesia) which I posted in the previous post. Always, at PKBI events there will be an explanation about UKBI. Usually the training is two days.

This training is aimed at various groups, from teachers, students, civil servants, to writers and translators. At the event I attended on 14-15 April, 2026, the aim of this event was for the younger generation, including me. They taught us many things.

In the fourth and fifth photos, the woman you see in the photo is named Ms. Jeannie Lesawengan, S.S., M.Hum., a linguist, researcher, and civil servant at the North Sulawesi Provincial Language Centre. At the time, she was explaining us about the UKBI. I know her quite good.

This is my UKBI certificate, quite beautiful isn't it? If you don't know, UKBI (Uji Kemahiran Berbahasa Indonesia) is a test of Indonesian language proficiency. Organised by the Agency for Language Development and Cultivation, this is the only official test from Indonesian government.

This certificate was issued on 4 May, 2026 and will expire on 4 May, 2028, so the validity period is two years. As you can see, alhamdullilah, I scored 651 and got the "sangat unggul" rank, literally means "very good". It is the second of seven ranks.

As context, the UKBI test that I took to obtain this certificate was part of the Selection of the 2026 Language Ambassador of North Sulawesi Province by the North Sulawesi Provincial Language Centre. I took the test on 30 April, 2026. The questions were relatively easy for me.
