Okay so there's been a lot of stuff floating around lately about how girls get super misdiagnosed/are not diagnosed with things like autism and adhd etc compared to boys but it really bothers me cause like. I'm trans. I'm *nonbinary* trans. Where do I even fall in this stuff? Which lists of common traits or whatever should I even be looking at? How does this work for binary trans folks? Do they go with the markers for assigned gender or actual gender? I know there's a high correlation between trans people and people with autism. How does that fall out? I understand the thinking behind the girls/women are not being diagnosed properly and it's bullshit that needs sorting out, stat. But it also makes me super uncomfortable because the language around it is so cisnormative and binary. I am, as always, trying to navigate a world that won't even acknowledge that I exist.
